A little less than a week left for the group stages of the champions league to get under way, and it's about time to start this thread.


What are your thoughts on this game?

Fenerbahce will be playing one forward against Milan, and that's Anelka. If we do score 2 goals, I think it will be one from Anelka and the other one from Alex in a free-kick or something. But it's going to be hard to put the ball past Dida!

i really want Fenerbahce to do great in Champions league


not much change in defense and mid than last year. but this year they're more experienced and have a better team chemistry. our defense is our worst place right now, but the injured servet is back now and along with umit and luciano in the back they can do some good stuff. than we have appiah playing santrafor like position in the mid-defense. he's a defensive midfielder who sometimes helps out for attack. in middle we have aurelio alex and tuncay in addition to appiah and our midfield is in a pretty good shape right now. best in turkey. in forward we have anelka and nobre, and sometimes tuncay runs up and helps them he's in a good form, probably be the best in turkey within 2 or 3 years. nobre is average, he not bad nor good. and need I say anything about anelka?

Fenerbahce has settled in Italy. Last training will be today at the Guazzape stadium.

Fenerbahce's squad still has not been announced, but a statement has been made by Daum that Nobre will be on the bench, we'll be playing with one forward and that's going to be Anelka.

Tuncay Sanli will probably take part in the game, but he won't be in the forward. Rather a wing-man. I like it more that way, he has a lot to add in midfield.

Since it's AC Milan, we'll most probably be using 4-4-1-1 as our formation and try to score in counter-attacks. Anelka can definitly do some damage to the aging Milan defense.

Let's hope for the best, and may Fenerbahce come back from Italy happily.

It's a possibility, but not the only one.

Fenerbahce players are looking forward to this game, it's going to be a b-i-g test for us. I wouldn't be dissapointed if Milan won the game, because it is Milan. If Real Madrid lost to AC Milan in San Siro, they wouldn't be dissapointed. :) But I'm hoping for a suprise, and it is quite possible. We've the best squad in Turkey, and it's way over the Turkish standarts. If they underestimate us, I'm sure Fenerbahce will come back with points.

Fenerbahce would have it difficult against Milan since milan are dangeuros in anytime speacially kaka, but fener is lucky to have alex and tuncay their best

I'll admit that I thought milan would finish off this team with a lot more ease. Maybe they underestimated them.... who knows. Both PSV and Shalke are equally strong opponents.

You were. It would've been 1-1 if Fenerbahce didn't try to win.

I am very proud of my club, they actually tried to win in Milano. At the dying minutes we were attacking with 6-7 men, not many teams have the courage to do that. We will qualify from this group, I am very optimistic about this year. Their form was promising yesterday.

Players pace, movements, direction, timing, it all matters when it comes to dribbling. Kakas dribbling was sublime.

i know that rival thing between fener-galatasaray fans is just like here between f.k. zeljeznicar and f.k. sarajevo :D

The english uefa.com commentator has refferred to Fenerbahce as black and yellow, while their real colors are dark blue and dark yellow.
