What do you buy but never want to use? a coffin?
I've got one. It's not very difficult, but it surprises me how many people can't work it out.
A man is walking on a Mediterranean beach and sees a small casket poking out of the sand. He digs and gets the casket out and opens it to find it full of coins. He thinks they are current currency, but inspects the coins closely and sees that they are dated 100 BC. All excited in thinking he made an archaeological discovery, he takes them to the experts who quickly dismiss them as fake. Why are they fake?

22225555 + 55552222 = 35555 + 42222 (mod 7). There are only 7 residue classes modulo 7. Therefore, the series of powers of a given number (modulo 7) is bound to be cyclic (of period 6). For example, 32 = 2 (mod 7), 33 = 6 (mod 7), 34 = 4 (mod 7), 35 = 5 (mod 7), 36 = 1 (mod 7), 37 = 3 (mod 7), and so on: 3,2,6,4,5,1,3,... Note that 5555 = 5 (mod 6). Therefore, 22225555 = 35 (mod 7) = 5(mod 7).
Similarly, 55552222 = 42222 (mod 7). Powers of 4 modulo 7 form a cycle of period 3: 4,2,1,4,... Hence, 42222 (mod 7) = 42222 ( mod 3)(mod 7) = 42 (mod 7) = 2 (mod 7).
Adding up 5 + 2 gives a number divisible by 7. So is 22225555 + 55552222.

Hmmm... looks familiar... from my 10th grade math class, when I wasn't skipping classes playin' my guitar down by the creek, someone mentioned somethin' about the infinite sum of 1/n for all n from 1 to infinity... a so called "harmonic series"... named as such no doubt for its application to the musical tones produced by the harmonics of a vibrating string.
http://cnx.rice.edu/content/m11118/latest/harmseries2.png
For the series 1 + 1/2 + 1/3 + 1/4 + 1/5 + 1/6 + 1/7 + 1/8 + 1/9 + ....
we can group each number in the series by 1, 2, 4, 8... terms, after the 1 (fundamental) to get:
(1/2) + (1/3 + 1/4) + (1/5 + 1/6 + 1/7 + 1/8) + ....
Now, 1/3 + 1/4 is greater than 1/2... coz 1/3 + 1/4 > 1/4 + 1/4 (=1/2)
For the same reason, so too is 1/5 + 1/6 + 1/7 + 1/8
As is 1/9 + 1/10 + 1/11 + 1/12 + 1/13 + 1/14 + 1/15 + 1/16
so the answer is greater than 1 + 1/2 + 1/2 + 1/2 + ....
which obviously is unbounded (infinity)
that is, the sum :
1 + 1/2 +1/3 + 1/4 + 1/5 + 1/6 + 1/7 + 1/8 + 1/9 + ...
= 1 + (1/2) + (1/3 + 1/4) + (1/5 + 1/6 + 1/7 + 1/8) + (1/9 + ...
> 1 + 1/2 + 1/2 + 1/2 + ....
so the answer is infinity.

is the holiday question related with math number pi?
by the way the 1/n series question i think can also be solved by expressing this sum as a sum of infinite geometric series whose elements decrease by a factor of 1/2 with the first term of each being 1/k, where k is a prime number.
as for the 2222^5555+5555^2222 mod 7 question, the expression can be written as (7*k+3)^5555+(7*n+4)^2222 mod 7 =3^5555+4^2222 mod 7, and since 3^6 mod 7 and 4^3 mod 7 both yield 1 it can be written that 3^5+ 4^2 mod 7=0.
the animal question seems to be also applicable for sheep&cow, too.
and for the back-to-back, can an alternative be the existence of two j or m?
as warm-ups:
if eight is taken away from nine, one is achieved. in addition, if eight is added to nine, five is achieved. how?
in addition:
x=y
x*x=y*x
x^2-y^2=y*x-y^2
x+y=y
x=0
1=0?
