7-0 against Solomans a decent effort i suppose however it was heavily helped on by our 12th player, the Islander keeper Francis Aruwafu who gifted us 3 or 4 goals. Viduka scored a brilliant overhead and is in good form, also i loved the Archie Thompson goal and he will prove handy for the rest of the campaign and the WC if we qualify.
Surprisingly Bresciano came off the bench, but this may change for the second leg if Guus decides to go for a full-strength line-up as i thought he played well and he is one of our most talented players.
I think Hiddink will play a full-strength side for the second leg as this was the only game he has coached the team in. To rest star players would be pointless. The second leg is played this Tuesday.

2-1 against ten men :loco: like Guus i dont think anyone is happy with this result. Although there were 5 changes to the side and the formation was a little different and there was heat to contend with. So overall after the two legs we're looking could considering the situation we were in yesterday. However our game is gonna have to lift if we expect to challenge the South Americans. Uruguay here we go again :faint2:

After that second leg Guus is now desperate to get back a fit Kewell and Moore so that we stand a chance against the likes of Colombia and Uruguay in November. I think the two are key to our successes, however without them we still have a solid unit.

OMG, the prices for the second leg against the fifth placed South American team to be played at Telstra Stadium were shown on The World Game on SBS today. The cheapest ticket will cost $65! While class A and B tickets will cost between $120-190. Family tickets will cost over $200.
This is a real shoddy move seeing as though we would want as many supporters there as possible. I dont know too many people who are gonna want to spend $200 for a night at the football even if it is probably the important match we have ever played.

I agree totally, if the AFA wants people at the game which of course would be a massive boost for our rising team who i think rose to 54th on the FIFA rankings during the week, then there going to hav to lower the prices some how. It woud be great to see a full house at the game because you never no it mite be what gets us over the line and into the World Cup Finals!!!

Well there could still be a full house, just don't expect your average football families to be there, too expensive. :mad2:

N alot of football fans are the average families. They just have to be more smart to pull in the bigger crowds. Its not as if your going to the World Cup final between Brazil and Argentina although this is a very important match!

Yeah that could be true if we lost in a 0-0 draw on penalties. But if you saw a gud game with lots of excitment, then you would stil have the dissapointment of lossing but you saw a world class match!

I think it will be a sell out. When you think about it, the media hype leading up to the match should and will be massive. I think the FFA havent priced people out of going, but they certainly put it on the border line. I will be there with Category B seats - 50$ Concession!

New Boy Joel Checks In
Leeds United have agreed terms with Swiss Side Neuchatel Xamax for Australian international midfielder Joel Griffiths.
Griffiths has been on trial at Elland Road for just over a week and has impressed enough in that time to be offered a deal by manager Kevin Blackwell. http://www.leedsunited.com/Images/05_06/general/griffiths.jpg
United have also agreed terms on a one-and-a-half-year contract with the player, and now are just waiting to receive international clearance for his signing to be complete.
It is anticipated Griffiths will be available for selection this weekend when Leeds take on Sheffield Wednesday.
The 26-year-old made his debut for Australia in a friendly against Jamaica last October, scoring in the 5-0 win.
His previous clubs were Sydney United, Parramatta Power and Newcastle United in Australia's NSL.
Joel, who represented Australia at the FIFA World Youth Championship in Nigeria in 1999, is hoping that a move to the Championship could earn him a place in the Socceroos' squad for Germany 2006.
