This national team is not the product of an accident, they have the talent of any national team but behind them there's a work as good as the one performed by the USMNT and European teams.

Jesus Ramirez, the coach of the national team started his quest 4 years a go, when he was given the task to form a U15 national team, he traveled many miles, scouted all the states and finally came up with a U15 national team, two years later that U15 team is our current U17, pretty much the same players have played and trained together, they have constant meetings and trainings, even though the activities with their clubs and school makes it hard to join more constantly they try to keep each other in contact forming not only a talented football team, but a group of friends that will stick together for the U20, the Olympics and with some luck the big team.

There was a change on the official list of players in the last days, the substitute goalie Jesus Gallardo was changed for Cristian Flores Iñiguez, both of club atlas.

Pienso que de haber tenido a Dos Santos aunque fuera solo una mitad hubiera sido suficiente para hacer otro gol, de todas formas ya estaban clasificados, ahora para cuartos se les van a tocar los ticos, les va a tocar conocer a Giovanni Dos Santos y a Carlos Vela, me parece que los ticos no traen nada para enfrentar a Mexico, en todo caso estaba mejor armado Uruguay, solo espero que los chavos no se confien.

A mi me parece muy poco lo que segun se les va a dar a estos jovenes de la Sub-17 como de recompensa por haber ganado campeonato del mundo. Nadamas 115,000 Pesos aparte una computadora a cada uno se me hace ami muy poco para los chavos que hizieron historia.

Bueno también les van a regalar a todos el viaje a ver el clásico español Barça-Real Madrid y los van a llevar al mundial del proximo año. Van a rifar coches, celulares y cuentas de ahorro, es probable que tambien les den el premio nacional del deporte y pues a mi se me hace suficiente considerando que apenas son unos chavitos que si les regalan las perlas de la virgen a lo mejor resulta mas perjudicial que benefico.

Por su parte ya todos los que jugaban para el Atlas firmaron contrato profesional con su remuneracion correspondiente y dos de ellos, el 7 Hernandez y el 4 Jimenez se integraron al trabajo del primer equipo aunque es dificíl que debuten ya, es probable que tengan algo de acción esta campaña.

De los demás los que tienen más chance de ver acción en primera son Vela (a menos de que se vaya), Araujo, y Villaluz, y desde luego Guzman también, pero el ya jugaba antes del mundial. A muchos de los demás seguro les darán chance de ascender a segunda division, pues la mayoria juega en tercera y habra quienes entrenen con el primer equipo pero no jueguen. En su caso particular Dos Santos aspira a ser promovido a alguno de los equipos profesionales del Barça, ya sea el B de segunda B o el C de tercera division. Hablando de este último y de Vela todo parece indicar que la federación les podría dar un bono especial por los premios individuales que consiguieron.

Al que si le deberian dar las perlas de la virgen y todo lo demás es a Ramirez y a su staff, el se merece un buen aumento salarial asi como facultades especiales para controlar los trabajos de todas las selecciones inferiores de nuestro país, es el Pekerman mexicano y no se puede quedar limitado y mucho menos mal pagado para que despues se lo lleve un club de primera.

I agree Ramirez, certainly deserves quite a bit.
The U-17 team really seem to like him. He's a champion coach and should be given the freedom to continue developing national talent.
He defiantely should in line for the Mens NT, especially since he has a good rapport with up and coming players. Many of the U-17 players have the potential for playing in the next 3 or 4 WC (after next year)

Promotores del futbol mexicano, Sudamérica y Europa se han acercado ya al mediocampista cruzazulino César Villaluz, Campeón del Mundo con la Selección Mexicana Sub-17 en Perú 2005.

Así lo dio a conocer el mismo jugador juvenil en entrevista al termino de un reconocimiento que se le hizo junto con Pedro Valverde y Edgar Andrade en el auditorio de Ciudad Cooperativa, al revelar que el acercamiento se dio desde la justa peruana.

"Se me acercaron (los promotores) desde que estaba en Perú y me pedían mis números telefónicos y la posibilidad de tener alguna plática, pero no había nada concreto y ahora se ha dado por lo que quiero llevar con calma las pláticas que puedan surgir con ellos", indicó el jugador.

Abundó que han sido pláticas en las que no se ha definido nada, pero que sí ha tenido propuestas de promotores de México, Sudamérica, concretamente de Argentina, e incluso de Europa, aunque no especificó de qué países del viejo continente.

Villaluz se refirió por otra parte a la salida de Carlos Vela en busca de una oportunidad en el futbol europeo y dijo que es muy buena para el jugador de Chivas y deberá aprovechar la oportunidad, "porque eso nos puede abrir las puertas a nosotros y demostrar que hay buenos jugadores en México y volteen la mirada hacia acá".

Reflexiones sobre la selección sub'17 campeona del mundo.

Fué un gran placer presenciar de qué manera ganaron la copa estos jóvenes. Fuimos testigos de un equipo mexicano que nos brindó un futbol contundente, ofensivo, inteligente, creativo y lo que más importa...un futbol hermoso. Personalmente, nunca había presenciado un equipo mexicano tan bien armado. Me imagino que lo que presenciamos los mexicanos con este equipo es lo que han presenciado los brasileños en muchas ocasiones. Fué verdaderamente admirable la mentalidad y la seguridad que manifestaron en todos los juegos, aún el que se perdió ante Turquía con el equipo reducido; es igualmente admirable la manera en la cual tuvieron buena participación diferentes jugadores en diferentes partidos. Para mí, el momento más difícil fué el partido contra Costa Rica, cuando un gol fortuito afecto en algún grado la mentalidad del equipo; sin embargo, y para alivio de todos, esa misma mentalidad pudo contrarrestar las dificultades. La semifinal contra Holanda y la final contra Brasil fueron simplemente sublimes. Se les ganó, y se les ganó de forma contundente -con goleadas- a dos potencias mundiales.

A mi ver, el héroe fue Giovani Dos Santos, muy a pesar de que no haya convertido goles; para mí fué el timón del equipo y sin su participación, en mi opinión, no se habría logrado el campeonato. Dos Santos demostró tener la calidad que todos le atribuían (curiosamente, yo no había sabido absolutamente nada sobre él hasta que se publicó el artículo de la FIFA). Francamente, creo que Giovani se está perfilando a ser quizá el mejor jugador mexicano de todos los tiempos.

Ahora bien, el desempeño de este equipo de jóvenes nos ha llenado a los mexicanos de ilusiones para el futuro. Ellos son representativos de la calidad de jugadores que podemos producir y que, ojalá, sigamos produciendo. Me imagino una selección mexicana en dos o tres años que sea innegablemente una de las favoritas para ser campeona del mundo. Dentro de cinco años, esperémos, tendrémos un equipo que tal vez sea el mejor de todos los tiempos para México.

Para finalizar, me gustaría que el sistema permitiera a más jugadores emigrar al futbol europeo. Creo que si Carlos Vela se desarrolla en el Arsenal y Giovani Dos Santos en el Barcelona y desempeñan un papel predominante el el futbol mexicano, esto servirá de antesala para un nuevo futbol mexicano, libre de complejos y de ese "je ne sais quoi" que siempre nos ha faltado.

Ojalá que esto sea el principio de un nuevo futbol en México.

Es cierto que este equipo nos ha llenado de orgullo e ilusiones. Ellos han hecho lo siempre hemos sabido que podíamos hacer. Desde ese momento no es pura plática sino hechos.

Da Jesús Ramírez prioridad a la continuidad de la Sub-17

El Director Técnico de la Selección Sub-17, Jesús "Chucho" Ramírez, no descartó la posibilidad de dirigir en el extranjero si es que se presenta una oferta, la cual refirió debe de ser bien analizada.

En entrevista, luego de presenciar la inauguración de la Escuela Primaria de Futbol en Aguascalientes, añadió que tanto en México o como en el extranjero el dirigir otro equipo significará un reto, pero dijo que mientras esté al frente de la Sub-17 seguirá con la misma dedicación, entrega y constancia.

"Cuando hay éxitos es el mejor momento para analizar que se puede mejorar, por ello le estamos dando continuidad a este equipo de jóvenes y yo seguiré y si se tiene otra oferta tendría que analizarse adecuadamente", expresó.

En relación al trabajo actual de la Selección Campeona del Mundo Sub-17, señaló que esta sigue trabajando con diversas evaluaciones y se le esta dando el mantenimiento para que continúe con el buen nivel con el que logró el triunfo mundial.

El Director Técnico mencionó que de igual manera sigue en la mira y búsqueda de nuevos talentos del futbol mexicano, por lo que dijo que esta observando a los jugadores de diversos clubs y fuerzas básicas para reforzar dicha Selección.
