Who should be our new captain now with Zanetti side-lined for ~30 days?

I would say that it should be and most probably will be Ivan Cordoba. Although I like the idea of giving it to Recoba due to his seniority, I feel that Café possesses better leadership qualities and is more likely to be in the team than Recoba who will be used in rotation with Oba probably.....

Cordoba, but still Inter needs a stronger figure than Zanetti and Cordoba IMO.

Hmmm...a strong figure...what comes to my mind ...is ADRIANO. But he's surely too young although if he stays with us ...there's a great chance he will be our leader in the future.

I suggest we should at least add him as a candidate.

no, you're not getting the point, a captain is like a player that will always stay with the club no matter what and has alot of talent skill but most important of all leadership obviously, Adriano's only flaw is leadership and sadly but true not a certain amount of possibility to stay with the club.

If I were to choose captain it would most certainly be Veron. After J.Zanetti he is a true leader.

Cambiasso is another good option..... but he needs more years in the club. I'll go for Cordoba

Veron is a good choice, he hasnt been with us long, but when i think of him, authority comes to my mind. He is a leader.

Yup, he's really influential out there. Like I said in the other thread, true leaders don't need an armband, and Veron has been proof of this.

i would have to say Cordoba, what wwhat off toldo maybe he should get it

Well I went for Recoba but I think it will be given to Cordoba.

Leaving Veron have it is not a bad idea but i think that Recoba and Cordoba deserves it more so I think it is between them two.Well see who gets once the internationals are over.

...it's got to be one of either RECOBA or CORDOBA....i would choose someone who is creative and all over the field who contributes in the offansive tasks....RECOBA.......he's a mature and with the arm band on him he will motivate him self even more....he's one of the oldest players that stayed in INTER...but they dont get allong too good with MANCIO so the vice captain is CORDOBA...whether you like it or not....;).....

Out of this 2, i would choose Cordoba, but i would go 4 Veron....like someone already said, hes a leader...and i think that would make a very good impact on him.....i think he would be even more motivated...so i hope on Juan Seabastian Veron.

I like the idea of Recoba is the captain, this will give him a great push forwrd to do better in the feild, it`s a great responsablilty to be a captain.. although in this poll I choosed Crdoba for one reason, I didnr see in my life a FW holding the Captain armband.. the defender should, cause he already have the greater responsabilty in any team ofcourse with the Goalkeeper.. and that`s drove me to think about TOLDO!!! :)

A Captain must be a guranteed starter and at inter currently there is only cordoba, adriano and cambiasso. The rest isn't sure if they will start. Soo may choice is cordoba.

right like i said toldo, i think he deserves it, he has been pretty consistant, and has let the team down in anyway

At the moment J.Cesar is being preffered above toldo. Youre captain must be insured of 1st team spot. So that rules toldo out.

Toldo didn't play because he was having injury problems and Cesar came in only because it was Treviso. Toldo will continue being a first choice keeper this season.

He also didn't play in the 2 cl games vs shaktar. You are probaly right but I just have a feeling about J.Cesar that he will oust toldo before the season is up.

recoba as captain? LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

materazzi or cordoba will do fine

I always preferred captaincy to be given to players in midfield or defence because they can view the game from behind and the middle where the majority of the action. If a captain is isolated up front, it's hard for them to motivate or direct the team. So I guess my choice will be Cordoba.

What Inter needs as a Captain is a big personality and neither, J.Zanetti, Cordoba or many other Inter players have that enthusiasm.

The player that I think carriers this confidence is Veron and even though he isn't necessarily a starter he has the qualities of a Captain.

We have had this debate before may times. JZ leads through example. He doesn't scream and shout because thats not his way. But he is our leader and the only 1 deserving to lead Inter.

For me Javier is captain until he retires. While he is injured i'd go with either Cordoba or Veron. Not Recoba though. Although he is a magnificently talented player I don't really believe he has too many leadership qualities.

I think a captain has to be a good combination of someone who has a strong personality, is a senior member of the team with good experience. That said I vote for the mattress...hee hee, kidding. Veron might be a capable candidate?

He is the president. Moratti is the owner. But mancini is the manager and selects the team.

Veron!
he spent a season with us so he's not that new and he's more of a dominant person than Cordoba!

the very first week I worked for Ministry of Environment at home I was substituting our teamleader just because had a better command, balance and understanding of the business. thought it's ridiculous but turned out well and was having such a great feeling of being trusted by people....

anyway, sorry for that bullshit, think Veron could be a shining captain for INter!

BTW, he is argentine aswell, just like Javier :D

Seriously, i see Veron as the best option. He is a leader.

I noticed that too. So perhaps Mancini does use seniority (with Inter) to pick captains.

Did you see how Recoba played when wearing the Armband!!!!!!!1 that was pretty amusing!! it`s so bad that he didnt score cause with no doubt Fontana was in a very good shap and in form.. but Cruz is to blam for wasting chances too.

I dont think Mancini would realize this, cause Cruz didnt score, and that because Cruz didnt find understanding with Recoba.

my father never comments on Inter, he thinks Inter is cheap...

but watching Inter- Livorno he said inter is really cheap for not fielding Recoba often (!), who made a real impact in Uruguay team in 2002 he said...

The team has so much more identity with Recoba on the field. There's no excuse not to play him when he's healthy and confident. Your father is right...who knows, maybe Mancini has something against Recoba on a personal level.
