Alright, there has been a lot of commotion it seems and the rumours have been flying. So far we have the following interested in the S. Korean Job, which includes legendary S. Korean Cha, former Japan coach Troussier, Former Scotland coach Vogts, as well as Bobby Robson, Rudi Voeller, Mick McCarthy, and Ian Porterfield. I only know troussier well, but the rest by reputation.

Toke, rudi voller is the sporting director at leverkusen. Its an honoroary post, and given the bad spate of results at leverkusen, he has a lot of work to do. I doubt he will be going any where.

Here's my views on each

Bryan Robson- An excellent motivator- took England to wc 90 semi's. Took Newcastle to many second placed finish in EPL. After he's left, Newcastle has had very bad fortunes. He is very adept at handling mid level clubs and making them compete with the best. If he comes to Korea as a coach, its the kind of role he relishes ( taken korean teams relative strength as compared to other world teams). The only problem is that Sir Bobby Robson is very old.

Rudi Voller- I said it above

Berti Vogts- Took Germany to euro cup victory in euro 96. His game is more defensive, relying on 5 defenders/ 4 defenders and 2 dms and the occasional counter attack. He places a lot of importance on attack by the flanks, and good heading abilities. From what I see of korean team, which is a more 'flair' than 'physical' side, I doubt Vogts will be able to sucessfully implement his ideas. He has a bad spell with the scottisch national team.

Mick Mcarthy- A good coach, rescourceful, and made the most of his team in wc02, even with out star man Roy Keane. The bad part about this guy, he gets into confrontations with almost anybody, and makes sure to tell every one that he is the boss. This has happened more than once, and is bad for team spirit.

Phillip Toussier- Good expereince with asian teams. Did some coaching with african teams also.

Cha- I dont know

Ian Potterfield- who???

lastly, best if Korea gets Guus Hiddink back. He loves them, they respect his coaching, its a win win situation.

Mick McCarthy is current Sunderland boss and won't leave them,he certainly is'nt a confrontational manager but a very levelled headed rational one.Bobby Robson may just be too old now but in his time was one of the best managers England has produced. How about Bruno Metsu ex Senegal manager?

I think Sir Bobby RObson is the best bet at this moment..
But considering what Troussier did for Japan over 3-4 years span...
We can get Troussier and hope for another miracle run in 2010...

I really hope its not Troussier, we cant afford to take chances we need a solid coach that can get us far in 2006 :mad2:

gae? who is 'gay'?

But I think Sir Bobby Robson left Newcastle United because of some slight health concerns. Even his son is a coach now.

Why... i totally dont understand WC is only 1 time every 4 years... 10 months of hard work can get us far into the world cup. we have the players; this maybe Ahn + Lee won jae's last World cup and u know what they were capable of doing in 2002. Park and lee will be in the best shape of their career because they have both entered the best competition in soccer the english premier league. With Cha helping out his team to stay in Bundeslega and having played in Germany for few years he will be most comfortable at the next World cup. And the next world cup will be Park Ju Young's best chance to show his talent all over the world. I am also assuming Park Ju Young will be in his best shape when world cup rolls around.

As regards Bobby Robson bless the fella we love him but if anyone has seen TV interviews with him,age is catching up with him,he can sometimes forget names and is'nt the quickest anymore. One of the reasons Newcastle got rid of him was because the players started to treat him as a "grandad"figure'they felt he was'nt disciplined enough and they started taking liberties with him.Maybe the Koreans will have more respect for him because he certainly has the experience, who knows he might even face the English in a WC game.

As you have seen in news, KOrean NT only has so mnay times to meet
and play together... and i heard at the max, its about 50 days...
Thats not a lot of playing time togehter..
If Korean players were good enough to cover up for each other in a real game.. thats good time.. but Korean players individual ability is worse than European teams which require us to have more playing time together...
Look far ahead
