2006 World Cup Germany

Hopefully someone out here might be able to help me out.

I'm interested in making the trip from the US to Germany for the 2006 World Cup. I'm trying to find out if it's possible to purchase tickets by venue. Most places I have looked are sold by team. With that being said, which venue is closest to Jena, Germany? My wife's ancestery is traced to Jena and it might be the only way I can convince her to go out there. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

OK. I figured out that Liepzig appears to be the closest venue to Jena. Still would be interested in any other travel info or anything anyone might have for me though.

Getting tickets at the venue at that time will be very difficult and expensive. It was very difficult for the confederations cup also. Better if you can arrange for tickets before. ( some times tour operators will give them to you illegaly) Or if you can find some one willing to sell tickets before hand on ebay/ any aucion site. I cant help you in getting tickets. But I can tell you some tourist sites there.
