River or Boca?

I see there are no posts here yet so I thought I'd encourage you to say a thing or two... When it comes to European teams, I pretty much know who to root for in every country. But in Argentina, I don't quite know whether to go for River or Boca since they're both great teams. What would you say?

well this summer i took a trip to south america and got to saw a few games of each on television from what i saw river plate seemed to be the better team although Boca has been getting better results but i like boca a little better i guess palermo is a pretty good player tht should be heading ti europe some time soon

could you possibly need. It all depends on philosophies. I was born in Buenos Aires in the poor Italian section known as La Boca , Boca is a club that was started by ameteur Italian immigrants back at the turn of the 1900,s, River is a rich club started by a rich English bussisnessmen. So in many ways River is the Lazio of Argentina, and why would you want to root for snobs? Boca is very succesfull in International club play whereas River has the slightly better record in domestic league play. Maradona perfected his skills in Boca, Palermo plays there, so does Requilme, Schelloto and Basualdo. Walter Samuel who now plays for Roma was from Boca. All in all they are both great clubs with a great history but Boca is the real peoples team, so I go with BOCA!!!!

Wel between poor ITa inmigrants and rich ENg man, we can all see that Boca is the best ARG and SA team.

River is good but better than Lazio?
