Champions League Favorites

well with big guns such as juve and bacrca already knocked out ( which were my picks to win ) who do you people believe that the favorites are ??? Milan Madrid Man U Valencia Lazio ??? or maybe will there be a surprise team like Valencia was last years possibly Leeds who have just acquired 2 talnted young players in robbie keane and rio ferdinand anyway this CL i think will be one of the best in recent memory even though some big names have already crashed out like INTER JUVE BARCA any comments opinions ???

i personally think that real madrid woulg retain the cup cause of their history n' their great form right now :)

well i saw the man u game today and they won 2-0 but in my opinion they did not play all that well so i would have to say that real madrid or lazio would be my picks if i had to choose right now lazio is a talented and hungry side now and well madrid is always looking for another Champions League trophy to stash somewhee :D

If ManU can shore up their defense, I would go with them, but I don't think that is going to happen. I think they will be lucky to advance to the final this year. I think it goes to either Real Madrid again, or perhaps AC Milan.

Man U's defence is too week, Lazio is not playing well at all right now either in league or C.L. and Bayern just doesn't have that extra spark needed to win.

Despite Real's faulter in the Spanish league, (they usually do better at cups anyway so I don't think it will translate into loss of confidence) I think they will win it again. I think loosing the Toyota cup will actually drive them to win another Champions league as oposed to deflating their confidence.

I also think Valencia has a shot, they are playing even better soccer this year in both league and cup

I'm going to go out on a limb and say its another Real vs Valencia final and real will win it again, but it will be much closer.

They BARELY passed the first stage of the CL. They are in a group FILLED with Powerhouses, and I don't think they will pass the group, let alone make the Final.

But I could be wrong, anything can happen in football, but my OPINION is that they won't...

you actually ARE right, the group is filled with powerhouses
but the thing is look at psg right now... they are not playing well or doing well at all...
the type of football milan's playing has been uneffective against gala for a long time... and gala has missed the away win in milan - the first match.

deportivo is the biggest test for galatasaray. if the win this next match on Feb. 14. then i think they will be in the finals... the reason i said gala would play the final with real is because once galatasaray passes to the finals stage in any type of cup competition they hold on to it very well... and also gala has just started playing even better with the new tactics that lucescu is giving them since their winter break.

it's going to be interesting... especially if they go as far as the final match.
but i believe they will...

Well I am a Milanese fan, I hope Milan wins. They have a strong squad but the problem is they havent got any good results in the Italian Serie A, which worries me, so I think they should do better in the champions league.
Man Utd are big contenders to reach the final and so is Real Madrid. Bayern are good, but they play well when they want to, they are a bit moody. Arsenal might do something, but they have to get some victories to reach to the quarter final. Overall if Milan plays as they have from the start of the champions league then they might win the champions league. WHO KNOWS?

Come on Milan We need that Red Devil Spirit we used to have in the late eighties and early ninties!!! We need to settle things and show who the real devil is! :evil:

I watched GS play AC Milan the other day, and they are better than I thought. They played a solid game. One thing I noticed though, is that only the foriegners cause trouble...Hagi, Jardel, Popescu in defence etc... They make up the team.

But another thing is though, GS is a very bad away team. Turks are like Greeks at home. Nobody can beat them. Olympiakos has played so many "powers" in Europe yet NOT ONE has been able to beat us. Real, Juve, Porto, Ajax, Valencia etc...

Anyway, I feel poor away playing will be GS downfall. While they may win 1-0 at home, they will probably lose 3-1 away... Thats just my opinion.

Djalminha is nasty. Just plain nasty. No players like him. He's kinda like Jason Williams of the Sacramento Kings. They both sometimes make bad decsions, but both can make some of the best defenders look silly and both can do sick moves. Did you see his penalty vs Real Madrid couple weeks back? He made Cassilas look like a little boy. Man, do I love his style.

Yup that little chip did it. I learned how to do it too. But there is no other player like Djalmnhia. One of a kind. In the CL, since there are no more Greek teams, in the competition, i'm rooting for Deportivo and Arsenal

It seems to be that there are 4 favourites to win the title:VAlencia, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and deportivo. quite hard again that there are three Spanish clubs and no Italian clubs. It is suprising that three english clubs have had so good luck that they have reached so long. It is known that Englishmans doesn't know how to play REAl football. I Believe To Val. this year.

If you want to earn money, go to England, If you want to leran to play football go to spain, if you want both go to Italy!
