Romans to off-load fiery Mihajlovic Friday 15th December 2000
Lazio have finally run out of patience with controversial Yugoslavia defender Sinisa Mihajlovic and intend to sell him at the end of the season, according to reports in Italy. Mihajlovic received his marching orders against Udinese on Wednesday in the Italian cup and his dismissal was the pivotal moment of the match as the Serie A champions went down 4-1 and were knocked out of the competition.
After being sent off, the Yugoslavian insulted the referee before storming off the pitch and throwing his Lazio future into doubt.
It is not the first time Mihajlovic has been involved in a controversial incident and earlier this season he had to apologise for racist remarks aimed at Arsenal's Patrick Vieira in a Champions' League clash.
And it now appears as if Lazio's patience is running out with manager Sven-Goran Eriksson since president Sergio Cragnotti is becoming increasingly frustrated with the defender's behaviour.
Sensi is angered that the negative headlines created by Mihajlovic are ruining the reputation of the club and reports in Italy suggest that the Yugoslav is unlikely to be at Lazio next season.
The versatile defender is known for his amazing free-kicks and his goals were instrumental when Lazio clinched their first title for 26 years last season.
However, the goals have dried up this season and with another suspension just around the corner, it is questionable whether Eriksson will even recall Mihajlovic to the team.
Mihajlovic was fined £20,000 for the sending off and the subsequent outburst.

Give it up Miha.... retire while you still have some dignity and respect left in you. Don't ruin your golden career like this! :(
