View Full Version : What will be the reason to quit being Inter fan?
The tension is high and discussions on the board are getting tensed recently, I would say a bunch of us are just confused slowly losing belief in scudetto this season and hoping for decent CB transfer...
anyway, this is prolly off topic question, but what does it take to stop being an Inter supporter? I remember that some just left the board after May 02... Frustration was at the highest point...
now, we have been waiting for scudetto, our transfer hopes are still there and our competitors are getting strong (but old :D) ...
I would certainly quit being an Inter fan if Adriano goes to Real and we get Ronaldo instead... Also, may lose interest in Inter if we fail this season badly...
what about you guys? do you actually think about it or not? Maybe you would just lose interest to football like it happened to Massimo in the past :faint2:
lol, really does go against your signature "interista forever!"
i doubt i will ever quite being an inter fan, possibly lose some interest, and start to support another club as well.

eLcino's poem sums it up. Becoming an Interista is like marriage, you should never get a divorce. I know that I will never stop supporting Inter.....

You don't ever quit Zek. We've had a lot of talk about pessimism and whatnot, but honestly, its the pain and the suffering that makes you love Inter even more. Take the Champions League semi-final 3 seasons ago when we lost to Milan on 'away' goals, I think I loved Inter more so because they lost in such a dramatic fashion than I would have had they won.

...i remember when Zek was pretty desapoinbted after the 2002 apocaliptic epilogue......and he even said that he wont be as regular as he used to be...but he was just luying him self...:silly:...he's just cool right now...and i know that he wont bend nor he will break in front of all those temptationes and suffering.....
...and all that suffering and pain
...will desapear like a train
..and INTER will be glorious again...
i wrote this stuff after that sudden death when we lost the scudetto...i even placed the scudetto avatar the night before that....this will make even stronger my friends...cos we will be the most happiest fans alive...we've suffered so much and when INTER will win the C.LEAGUE or the scudetto(perhaps bouth......)...we will be happy all our lives...:ronaldo:..when ever some INTER fan feels desapointed or depressed for something that went wrong in his life..he'll just visualise the picture of JAVIER lifting the C.LEAGUE trophey or the SCUDETTO and he'll jump out of joy like a BALLET dancer....:silly:....believe me there wont be a happier person on this planet than the INTER fans...when ever i feel desapointed in my beloved INTER i just visualise that FUTURISTIC scene where ZANETTI lifts the trophey which is quite VIVID in my mind...and the shadows will desapear......(damn i love this smiley).......Just Hold on My Friends Dream the Dream Let it Whisper to All of You...:smoking:........

May the 5th 2002 was an extreme scenario...as a result I took a "time-out" for about two years in which I wasn't interested in football as Zek said. But I never really STOPED being a fan....they were allways in my heart, i just needed this break for myself...After a certain point I felt it's time to come back and become once again a "regular".
I think it depends on ones personality....If he's strong mentally he would continue being a fan even throughout devastating situations....I myself am a fragile person...so May 02' was too much for me .
Interesting thread Zek -

Great post eLcino:thumbsup:
Yes, I will never forget that day....when we were holding the scudetto with a hand and a half....and suddenly out of nowhere something went wrong....:(
I will always remember that day, sitting in front of the tv watching the match against Lazio with my cousin....who is a juve fan.....and u remember when we lost that match who got the scudetto then:( That day was probably the saddest in my life....and as u said we've suffered so much the past years, we deserved that little gift....because after that day many interistas changed to milan or juve fans or...... but I am glad they did that cause they never were nor will be "TRUE" Nerazzurri! The TRUE Inter fans are still with the team even after that sad day, and 3 years later, still haven't won the scudetto.....but hoping that the next year we will....
sorry for messing up thread name with quite word... I forgot how to edit thread names...
I mean we're faithful Inter fans for so many years, but when you see the amount of money spent by Inter and results we got... That leads to frustration that a bunch of poor managers are ruining a team you support... and then there's not much you can do, probably not more than our fans did in last AC Milan game...
that's what cracks me up...
as for May5th, I knew we lost it after 1st half... and again the only player I recall fighting on the pitch was DiBi, Toldo tried but what could he do , I still thank him for trying hard and attempting to lead a team of 'cheap' boys...

I really believed we won the scudetto when Recoba singlehandedly defeated Roma 3-1 (again, the best game from Recoba ever in an Inter shirt). It's a damn shame when we lost to Atalanta and drew to Chievo, we had the opportunity to wrap up the league. May 5th was the end result of what was slowly building up to that day.
I don't think I'll ever stop supporting Inter, I love the club as an ideal and not just for sporting reasons.
i don't think i will quit to be an inter fan, despite it is very frustrating too be an inter fan.
maybe i will be also a fan of another club in another country ass well, but inter allways will be number 1 for me.

...yeah against ATALANTA it was a disaster......but we've lost the title when we played 0-0 in SAN SIRO against TORINO...played draw 1-1(when GRESKO assisted to VIERI for 1-0)and they equalised on the end....and when we lost from BOLOGNA...these three consequtive games made that whole mess....
