...which TITAN is a better team???...they will be the favorites for all the titles again...and perhaps JUVE although they were maybe overrated in the past now they have the power to thrash everyone with that central mid section......MILAN allready signed GILARDINO...hell they will be awesome up front......what do we have that can overshadow these two???......we have the best striker in the world...but they have allready the confidence and better teams...i must say this although i feel pissed off.......i see them bouth as the biggest favorites in the Champions League as well...BARCA is extremely powerfull but their squad is incomplete...CHELSEA are also regarded as the favorites...but this time JUVE will have a cool bench...unlike the blast season...as for MILAN they ahev the best arsenal of forwards......i think JUVE will be the biggest favorite again...their mid field is the best in the world and the rest of their squad is awesome...+ they have the best coach...MILAN on the other hand is NUCLEAR but they will have a lot of nightmares(that were created in thefinals against LIVERPOOL)to fight with...unlike JUVE who are always champions in the scudetto...:mad2:..what's their secret damn it....two best goalkeepers in the business...two best defenses....extraordinary mid sectiuones...and two Atomic forwards...if MUTU regain his fitness then they will be just as good as Milan forward...

i'll use this thread to compare these two rivals.. so i won't include inter since we are discussing inter in other thread :)
imho juve is much better... perhaps 3-4 times better.. they were more complete as a team... they have each positions covered pretty well with most experience players... their attack is also good... zlatan might be a bit overrated... but he is very good like what many people said...(btw i saw some of juve highlights...) trezeguet... if not for the injury... he is still one of the best... but last season he was decisive... and this year if he could return to his old form... you'll never know... i just hope del piero to stay there to destroy juve harmony... trez and ibra should start... but del piero won't stay there just to sit on the bench... and finally they also have mutu... so their attacking force are about as good as milan's.... their defense... nothing much to discuss... their midfield... i'm getting sick of their midfield... lately there are too many of vieiras... vieira this vieira that in every soccer websites... the only thing i can say they are the best in the euro.. probably in the world...
milan... okay their attacking force are probably the best because they have gilardino... but how about the other section of the team... like their defense... their defense are getting worst this season... maldini is getting old... so is stam... i think milan will be looking for their replacement... i predict its also one of our target... chivu or samuel.... anyway their mentality are very bad after istanbul final... like you and giorgio said...
i only watched milan 3-5 games last season... here is what i think about last season milan... I think they were a bit overrated last season.... kaka wasnt really good last season... he was okay but he wasn't like in the previous season... if he keeps playing like this... having too many world class strikers wont make any difference... now pirlo... i don't know why people always think pirlo is a world class... every time i watch him play... i don't see anything special from him... he is just like beck... only excel in passing... thats all about pirlo... gattuso... i admit he was very good... made many important tackles in the midfield and even running back helping block some dangerous shots on time.... we could score some if this guy wasn't there in first leg CL derby... seedorf was just there for show imho... he didn't do much... just a couple of pass and predictable shots, and he went invisible most of the time... nothing much... but i dunno why commentators praised his spirit and labelled him as one of the best milan players on the pitch... ridiculuous imo... lucky they just got jankulovski... i bet he would keep seedorf on the bench for whole season... this guy is much better and a perfect solution for seedorf... he is not a world class... but he could become one... we'll see about that next season...
milan have a lot of things to solve... unlike juve....

It is almost impossilbe to pridict who will be better next year juv or milan becasue lots of things happen during a season that can change every thing for example gilardino could end up not being able to handel the pressure of playing with a top team and end up like mutu was for chelsea and divio for juv so in that case milan's attack wont be so great and in juv case well nedved is getting old and this year could be his turning point and his best playing days will be over so in that case juv wont have that great of a midfeild.

Well, you and I certainly agree about one thing, Seedorf is way overrated and doesn't actually do that much.
Otherwise though, I think you underestimate Milan. Pirlo is essential to them, time after time he unleashes pinpoint passes. Perhaps he is the world's best passer of the ball...he is also more creative than Beckham. I think Beckham is often underrated cause of all the little things he does well but doesn't get credit for, but he is difficult for coaches cause he is not as good in the middle as he is on the flank, but then he lacks ideal speed for the right side. Pirlo is a true central midfielder and doesn't cause that sort of tactical problem. The Milan defense is aging, and perhaps that will show this season, but I think it is more likely that they'll get the job done. Stam and Nesta should be fine...and if Maldini lets age finally get to him, they can just replace him with Kaladze or even Jankulovski. You know, I actually thought Crespo was a weaklink for them most of last season. He only scored what he did because of the great team around him (though it has looked recently like he might be finally regaining his confidence from a few years ago). I think if they had had Gilardino last year, they might have beaten out Juve. Thats how important I think his signing is. I must admit, I can almost always watch Milan play and revel in the beauty of their style. They work that diamond midfield wonderfully. I'm often envious and wish Inter would play with such grace, though Inter certainly moving in the right direction in the post-Cuper era.
Juve? Hmm, well I'd actually be more concerned about their defense than Milan's...I have my questions about Thuram and Cannavaro, though they too are probably going to be fine and they have Kovac. The point is, the Juve-Milan race is going to be decided by the little things, like injuries and luck. Of course, Inter could be the great x-factor...

...i dont think he underastimated MILAN at all...perhaps MILAN were a bit overrated last season by the media aspecially the italian...and that preassure pushed the players to play beyond their limits and always on the highest level...that payed it's due and destroyed them...the problem with MILAN was that ANELOTTI lost him self between the SCUDETTO and the C.LEAGUE......he thought that he will do something that ITALIANS havent done in years...obviously he was wrong...you should target one championship cos they're bouth hard as hell...if you're doing good in the other then heyone title more....:smoking:....the most important thing is to stay cool and dont egsaust you're self and you're team...CAPELLO lost the champions league the week when he played draw with FIORENTINA...he tired his players beyond the limit becouse they were losing all the time...they equaised but lost from LIVERPOOL....JUVE is stronger...men they were newer as strong as now......EMERSON and VIERA????..what possibly can you ask more...it cant get any better than that...PERFECT...MILAN mid field is actually a class beyond ours...PIRLO and GATUSSO cant be better then CAMBIASSO...PIZARRO and aspecially not better then VERON....the defense is brilliant...but over 30 years old...:silly:...i think MALDINI will have extremely difficuld and intensive season......he's 36 for god sake...

imho pirlo is good to milan coz he has good vision and do a quick decision on passing... but thats all what i think about him... some errors he made were fatal to the team... most of the time, he let a player to run through him when he could easily tackle or fouled the player...... and this costs the defense a lot coz all of the time, nesta or stam need to make some dangerous interception near the penalty... i dunno why inter couldn't use this opportunity wisely... everytime our midfield dispossesed pirlo in dangerous moment... all milan defenders could easily get the ball back from our midfield ^^
btw i didn't watch the second cl derby.... that based on the first one... but i believe when we play milan we need certain player in midfield.
I am not intending to include Inter, but just to put opinion of those two clubs :D
The Juve coach does not believe that the Nerazzurri can be serious contenders for next season.
Fabio Capello spoke during a press conference from the Salice Terme summer camp where the Bianconeri are preparing themselves for the upcoming season and also for next Wednesday’s yearly mini-tournament against Milan and Inter.
“With regards to the Pavia match, we have recovered everyone, we are in form. Wednesday’s triangular tournament against Milan and Inter will only be an athletic test, to evaluate our stamina.”
Capello will not be worried if the Bianconeri fail to achieve positive results from these early season friendlies.
“We shall greet any verdict with a smile, maybe these matches arrive a bit too early for the preparation, but we are ready to face it. They are both good teams. Milan were already dangerous before, then with the arrival Gilardino they are even more.”
However, the former Roma coach does not fear Inter.
“They are still an open construction site. They have strengthened themselves and I believe that they will continue to do so.”

yep you're not planning big celebrations... :silly:

I fear Juve more than Milan. They have always been capable of grinding out results when things aren't going their way and now with Vieira, this makes them more domineering and agressive. Thuram and Cannavaro will still do the job IMO. They have strengthen their attack in Mutu as well as Chedder Cheese in midfield and Kovac in defense, so they are covered allover. Vieira will have more of an impact than Gila does, simply because you can only have one true goal threat and I think that's Sheva, whereas Vieira makes his prescence felt over the park.

Ah, well that should be an interesting deveopment in itself...which big money signing makes the larger impact this year, Gila or Vieira? Your tactical theory regarding forwards is also debatable in my opinion, but just for the sake of this discussion we'll assume that its true. I think, as was the case a year ago, Sheva will not always be available or might be too heavily marked. Gila will do a better job opposite him and creating spaces or just filling in than did Crespo or Tomasson. While he scored some goals, I just couldn't help but feel that Crespo was not that impressive and spent the whole year trying to regain form and confidence, which perhaps he is now finally getting back as a result of his year in Italy. I also feel that, even though he has not been in Italy for a decade, Vieira should play predictably well. So I guess I'd say whichever signing is considered immediately better (Gila's age should make him the better long term pickup) will depend on Gilardino alone. And with his track record in the Serie A, I don't see too many reasons to bet against him.

Ahh yeah, I forgot to take into account build-up play, where Gila can hold up the ball and attract attention. But put it this way, I don't think both Sheva and Gila will score 20+ goals each so it'll be either one or the other that'll rack in the goals. I could be wrong, afterall Cole and Yorke managed 40+ together at ManU once, and both were similiar in terms of goal threat.
The Vieira and Emerson duo in tandem will dominate proceedings, and I believe controlling the tempo of midfield will be very important. As long as the midfield works, any decent striker should score. This is why I feel Vieira could be key to Juve. However if it was up to me, I hope both players flop badly :D

Agreed
given their tackling style, age and number of injuries they had as well as number of games played each season for the last 5 seasons Emerson and Vieira (given the league) duo may flop or be injury hit for few months...
Gilardino will make Milan as a team more complete than Vieira makes Juve to my mind, but both teams have aging defence and some other key players like Nedved...
so our predictions look more like a gamble
