I think Inter should buy Francesco Totti as he is the best player in Serie A apart from Adriano.

well this morning i found one of my two dream players signed by inter.. and that's pizarro... so i just want inter to sign the other player who is barzagli... that's my last wish... although chivu and samuel would be better for our defense... but barzagli is italian and I like italian defender to lead our defense... he would be perfect replacement for materazzi

I would say it has to be a defender, either Samuel or Lucio. However if we sign a defender within the next few days my answer will definitely change to Steven Gerrard :smoking: . I think he is the most complete player in the world as he can tackle, pass, shoot and most importantly drive through the centre of the opposition. Messi and Ronaldinho would be cool as well  .

you mean the surprise couldn't be a defender or gerrard can play as centre back? but i think gerrard just signed a contract with liverpool.... lucio is an impossible dream ;(
munich wouldn't sell his only best defender....

I'm just saying that if we could sign any player it would be a world class centre-back because that is where we are most in need of new additions, but after that I would want Gerrard for the midfield. Hey chu chu I know they are unrealistic, but the thread says if Inter could buy any player :smoking: .

oh... yes i forgot... my mistake... that was embarassing... ;)

okay i'll start again from beginning...

(in order from most to least favourite)
adriano's partner: totti, ronaldinho, micolli, cassano
midfielder: no longer needed.. but gerrard would be a nice addition like giorgio suggested... cicinho is also perfect... he is a sideback but to me he is more of an attacking winger...
defender: lucio, chivu (when he was still with ajax), barzagli, salcido, samuel
sideback: zambrotta ;)

Cicinho is a great attacking player but his preferred position is RB and we all know about what we have there ;) . He makes too many forward runs for a right back as far as I can see and leaves too many gaps behind him. Anyway, apparently he is going to Milan, so he will take over from Cafu at international and club levels.

Realistic signings I'd like Samuel or Chivu in the defense, that's what Inter is lacking.

If we were to need to buy a midfielder (which we don't need), I'd like Figo or to get Emre back again ;) (I repeat, only if they were neccesities).

But my impossible dream is to see a mexican player in Inter, that would be great... at least for me :D
The perfect one would be a player able to play in any position in defense, like a Burdisso, and the perfect man for this is Ronaldinho's nightmare in the Confederation Cup.... Carlos Salcido :ronaldo: (yeahh, I know it's exaggerated, but it's very enjoyable to remember that game :p )

Samuel is the most important transfer we need now as Matrix is not good enough to start.Samuel was one of the worlds best defenders at Roma. Moratti said if we fail to sign Samuel then we would definetly sign Alex from PSV.

carlos salcido is excellent defender... his style is perfect for our defense.. but he's just not tall enough to partner cordoba but if we play with 3 man defense... he is a must recruit ^^

Any player? I'd take Joaquin, though the usual suspects of Ronaldinho, Totti, Gerrard, etc. would be wonderful as well obviously.

...since SAMUEL arrival is imminent...will have a world class defender....then i'd say RONALDO.......:smoking:...our forward looks inferiour to MILAN'S and JUVE'S...perhaps we have the best striker...but alone he cant do a damn thing....aspecially in seria A........

Blame Cuper for Kaka not belonging to Inter. Passing him up was a big mistake.

it was the same case like ronaldinho... wasn't it? we were afraid to pay more... but i guess its cuper who didn't want ronaldinho in the first place ;(

Blame Cuper for Chivu who could've been an inter player at the time...

It's a hard choice to pick only one player out of so many great options...but I guess it would be Nesta. Yet another Cuper-Flop...

Inter is the most confusing team in the whole world. I challenge anybody to find a team more mystifying than this sleeping giant. During the past few years we seem to have lacked the killer instinct on the transfer market. Whilst our rivals have purchased world class players we seem to have sat back and settled for the mediocre available players..

Sure, there was a time when Moratti was prepared to be ruthless on the transfer market. He signed the best; Ronaldo, Carlos, Toldo, Seedorf, Baggio, Crespo, yet for one reason or another these players failed to play to the best of their ability at Inter. They were good, every one of them, but not up to the standards that we could have expected from them...whereas if they had joined Juve or Milan there is no doubt that they would have been phenomenal from the word go(Seedorf and Crespo did indeed play for Milan).

We therefore cannot blame the Inter chiefs for not wanting to spend big bucks as there is a fear of failure now at Inter. Moratti must be shitting himself before he spends any cash :D . We shouldn't blame him for not pushing to sign Ronaldinho, Chivu, Nesta or Kaka. He probably didn't want to give Cuper the players he wanted, even if he had asked for these ones.

This plague like fear of failure has to be crushed at Inter. Maybe Mancini and the new heroes of Cambiasso, Stankovic and Adriano as his generals can be the men to do it.

Nicely written there Giorgio

Our "fear of failure" as you put it, is one of the factors for our unsuccessful road lately. This created a systematic defeatism mentallity within Inter. Add to that our spoiled players throughout the past years who played only for the money.

I believe not having Kaka was because Cuper and Inter didn't believe he would fit into Cuper's 4-4-2 amongst other things unrelated to his price tag, which actually wasn't that high in those days. Chivu? Perhaps Cuper was content with Cannavaro, Materazzi, and Cordoba.

I don't think we can be too mad at Cuper over Chivu. Matix and Cordoba were a formidable partnership back then. In 2001/02 they were possibly the best pairing in SerieA and for the next season that duo alongside Cannavaro fared well too. It was only when Cuper went in fact that Matrix turned into the liability that he is considered to be by many fans currently.

I guess there was still hope for Coco to do well back then. Still though, not signing Chivu was short-sighted.

...he was always an injury prone...i liked him but CHIVU was always constant and the best thing about him was that he could play as a central back...he would be always better than MATERAZZI...:smoking:....

Messi is now turning into a realistic dream. He has stated that when he plays playstation with Ronaldinho he always plays as Inter!! :D His contract can't be protected because of his age, so let's make a bid. He will become better than Ronaldinho, I am convinced of that :hungry: .
