...it seems that the SAMUEL transfer is quite contraversial and enigmatic.......and the alternative for a world class defender is none other than ALEX....to be hones i preffer this second...it's younger and it's lot cheaper+ greater potential....to be honest im sick of all those ARGENTINIANS and MORATTI'S FETISHISM for them.......you all know my affection for the BRASILIANS and it's a fact that they're winners which i cant say the same for their Arch rivals...who are proven Losers...i would pick a Brasilian over an Argentinian any time...:smoking:...we're talking about the club level...but it's the same...REAL wants to offload SAMUEL..and i still think that if we sign him on loan it'll be the best transfer INTER made for years...but i still preffer ALEX...what do you think it's a sensitive subject dont you think????it's a matter of stile and difference in Mentality........

I disagree. Style and difference in mentality matters a lot in any football team, but only for the attackers, playmakers and wingers. The defence should concentrate on one thing and that thing is defending. So what, Samuel isn't stylish and won't score beautiful goals, but he is solid and proven in Serie A. His combination of physical strength will be perfectly complemented with the faster Cordoba at his side. Alex would be my second option though as he clearly has a lot of potential. But this Inter needs immediate solutions, not solutions for 3 years down the line.....

yes you should!
yesterday had a beer with an old friend of mine, die hard milanista, and after quite a few beers and 2 hours of football discussion we realized that there aren't many good defenders in the current football. Not like in 90's when there were plenty of them...
and that makes Inter's task of signing a good defender very difficult... I personally would prefer to have an Italian defender... but there aren't many apart from Bonera and maybe Ferrari...
damn it, Parma had/s best young players!!! imagine if they had a bit of money...

i think soccer leagues is like nba these days... poor defending... but good in attacking... so the only way to make the team good in defending is to defend with 11 players like juve/milan...italian style?.... and that doesn't make any difference with or without world class defender imho... ;)

Honestly if we are to fail in our bid to get Samuel I would like a Brazilian defender, just not Alex. Lucio was amazing in the Confed Cup and he deserves much more credit than he is ever given. He is such a good reader of the game. If he could tame his attacking instincts just a little he could be the best defender for Serie A.

Lucio, Alex, Samuel, Kompany, Carr.. they are all good.

After watching his performance against Milan in the CL semis, I'm quite worried. He looked tired and slow to be honest. He was also at fault for Massimo's goal. I go for Samuel

Samuel would fit in great at inter, i think he should stay at real, but ALex would be a star in the next couple of years, so he would be great

He's affectionaltely known as the beast in PSV. He needs to refine his defending somewhat because he's already a menacing presence.

...im not refering for scoring goals...defenders have stile too...and it seems that BRASILIANS have the best defending arsenal of players....they are covered in all positions...:smoking:...a defender of pure world class isnt just defender...you have tons of defenders but are they all pure class...you will find more 20 years old innocent babes...than world class defenders...:silly:..look at NESTA...he doesnt score goals...but he's the best defender on the planet and PELE picked him as one of the three best players of all time in his opinion...he's allways brilliant...but for BRASILSIANS is hard not score except if we're talking about the goalkeeper...it doesnt matter on which position you play if you have stile and certain charisma then you have it...i dont understand why you have excluded defenders from the stilish splendour that few players can acheave......does LUCIO doesnt have stile????...or MALDINI????....ALEX has it too...SAMUEL have stile REAL didnt payed a shit load of cash for nothing...and ALEX potential isnt still to come...he isnt unproven...actually he did lot better than SAMUEL last season...he and VAN BOOMEL single handedly carried PSV to the semi finale...perhaps the other contriuted too...but these two are the most "guilty"...his ability to drible...score and defend makes him a prototipe.....he's even bettter than LUCIO...and he's an immidiate solution...that kind of player cant desapoint...i knew a world class player when i see it...SAMUEL is a world class too...but only if INTER couyld take them bout......SAMULE fee would be played next year and ALEX will cost only 9m euros....that can replace CORDOBA on the left back where he played under CUPER'S reign...

Cordoba on the wing isnt that good chino, he cant make good crosses, his nature position is CB, maybe he is fast and that`s why we put him LB , But his speed is more useful in CB postion to kill any fast FW we face ;)
I like Alex too, he is a stronge buddy and can carry the team very well, and I didnt remember that any of Milan players did get past him in the CL, I`ve watched the game again yesterday and he was just awsome!!
there is another thing.. a RW player named Farfan.. he is very good!! and he isnt expensive and he is only 19 or 20 years old, why dont we buy him!?

...when CHIVU can play on the left back...i dont see a reason why CORDOBA cant......i've allready seen him on tha position and he was damn good...you need a left back that is extremely fast...as for the crosses it's not a hard thing to do...when GRESKO could make crosses everyone can...:ronaldo:...

A back 4 of:
Zanetti----Alex----Samuel----Cordoba is made very attractive by eLcino. I would prefer Cordoba in the centre as his speed can make up for Samuel's lack of it, but those two players, Alex and Samuel would be impenetrable from the air. Like I said earlier, Samuel is my first choice, but if we can sign both then I have no problem with that.

I think Chivu has played at LB before at Ajax, however I do remember when Cuper tried to use Cordoba at LB, he didn't go forward enough to support the winger.

...supporting the winger it's easy man...this way we wont have to struggle for the left back when there isnt soemone that will worth the money..:rolleyeye:...signing CHIVU and SAMUEL will be a dream but CHIVU isnt that keen on leaving ROMA...but we'll see...if we can sign him then i'd go for ALEX and SAMUEL...:smoking:......the problem with CUPER was that he wanned a full back to go all the way down...and he "found" that in GRESKO.......if we had CORDOBA on the left back...i doubt that we would've received so many ridiculous goals....
