Just last nite i sat down to watch the new series of 24 (a american anti-terrorist drama series) and was shocked to see the americans portray Turkish people as Terrorists!!! They showd a Turkish Family organisation that lives in America plotting and actually takin the Secretary of State hostage...

My Family and most other turkish families were outraged and neva new such organistations existed in turkey and around the world...people must come to relise that the turkish government condems terrorist acts and all terrorists we do not associate wid terrorist or give in to them...we have a close relationship wid america who uses are land for their base camps and also close relationships wid UK and Australia and many other leading nations to fight the war against terrror...we hav also sent troops into afghanistan and iraq to help the US...i dont understand why people see us as arabs and Islamic Extremists...this is total bullshit and i hope that people here wud agree wid me...

The USA loves to blame other nationalities for the crap that they have done to this world themselves, and they portrait that very well through the movies and television series that alot of people watch.

It's very sad that some movies that do the exact opposite are somehow non-existent in this society.

In general, no... but, Turkey has f*ed over the US on many occasions in the past. 24 is a Fox TV show. The Fox community in general is a very patriotic conservative republican bunch who think that the US should get it's way no matter what that situation may be. It's not the first time that show has caused controversy by intentional defamation. Their response to criticism is usually something along the line of: it’s only a show, a fictional portrayal, not to be taken literally. In general that’s true, but I can understand how all the hidden innuendos may bother those in which they are directed towards.

Yeah what you basically said. Americans think if your muslim your a terrorist but only if your look like a middle eastern muslim not like for example a bosnian muslim. Turkey seem more like Middle Eastern muslims then europeans so they generally count them as terrorist.

Okay people, if you have racist things to say then I suggest you say nothing! This is a multicultural forum and quite frankly I'm sick an tired of ignorant people making hateful comments about whole nations based on something that most people have no control of whatsoever. That applies to the overly nationalistic attitude as well.
