View Full Version : Scudetto poll

It's the middle of the transfer season...
by now we know approximately what's happening in various camps including ours, memories of the last season are still fresh, Adriano showed magic at Confederations Cup and so on.

I am almost certain that at the end of the transfer window Inter will be set up for Scudetto!

Just interested in having a poll to see how many of us actually believe that Inter will win the Scudetto this season!

Time for bets!!!

I hope they win it.

why did not you vote NO! :p

cauz we may not sign a new defender... IMO, Moratti is unpredictable...

i'm the only one who votes no dude ^^

like giorgio said... we need a central defender...
if we can get one of samuel, chivu, or barzagli to partner cordoba... i think we would be more than capable to challenge scudetto next year... but on champs league... hmm why not? we are very good in champs... and has higher chance to win it as long as we don't meet any of milan/juve

I`m sure we will sign a good one, that`s why I voted yes. :)

No, but we'll be much closer.

Our attack and deffence is weaker than Milan's.
Juve's attack is on par with ours, but with a much stronger deffence and a much better coach.

If Milan sign Gilardino, I might agree with you, though I still wouldn't be convinced. A trident of Sheva, Gila, and Kaka would be formidable. Otherwise, I'd have to say you are underestimating Inter's attack. Adriano is better than any forward that Juve or Milan have, including Shevchenko. Ibra and Trezeguet (and maybe Mutu if he shakes his rust) are good, but not as good as Adriano. Vieri and Del Piero are past their best and Tommason and Inzaghi just don't worry me. I'd take Martins or even Recoba over any of the forwards Juve and Milan have, except Sheva.

I will sound very optimistic but I think we are ready even if we don't get Samuel. The second part of the season was completely blue and black even when Adriano and Recoba didn't play for many matches... and Matrix was our CB :p

Of course Solari, Wome, Pizarro, Makinwa and especially Samuel will help us to secure this. :smoking:

I actually voted yes Zek :D .

1. We have the best striker on the planet
2. We will have the best midfield in Serie A.
3. We have Recoba who will finally fulfill his greatness.
4. We will have Samuel who will form the best CB partnership in Italy with Cordoba  .

I said the same thing last season. Up until we shipped Canna to Juve, then I knew we'd be competing for 3rd place. Until we sign that CB to replace Canna, be it Samuel or Chivu, we'll find it hard to challenge even if our form after the winter proved we were the better team in the 2nd half

the point is we predict now and then we predict at the end of the transfer window! if the latter two say Yes, that will be a proof of our transfer market success if more of us say NO then ...business as usual... :mad2:

1. Milan are allmost certain to sign Gila.
2. Adriano is not better than Sheva. don't let the ultimate Brazilian attacking force and the relatively weak deffence in the confederation cup mislead you. In serie a, Adriano will barely have a place just to breath there. Roma's deffence is a shit, and in the 1st match against ACM, Adriano could barely do anything.

So... well, you're too optimistic, my friend.

But Giorgio not only optimistic, but allmost unrealistic.
I belive, in my general-life attitude, that we can make our best prediction according to the past(I'm studying CS, so that might affect me), and the past says Recoba will play maybe 10+ matches overall(Italy+Europe), Adriano will et injured for about 3 months in the middle of the season, and generally- Inter will have injuries or something else will go wrong.

I can accept one optimistic thought, but not too many... Becaue if you make too many assumptionm you have much smaller chance to be right, Giorgio.

Heh, well Brandes, I guess we'll have to agree to disagree over Adriano vs. Shevchenko. And no, I wasn't basing this opinion of mine on anything in particular, just Adriano's talent vs. Shevchenko's talent (although, that Argentine team wasn't so bad a test and featured two of our own). Though I guess in career achievement, Adriano is no where close to Sheva, but I think Sheva came to Italy at roughly the same age that Adriano is now, meaning he's had a lot more time. So in my assesment, I'm looking strictly at the talent and I simply prefer Adriano's.

My friend, you're too much of a pessimist! You can't predict the upcoming season just by looking at the past ones. It reminds me of all the countless American football magazines that 'predict' the upcoming NFL season by pretty much suggesting it'll finish like the previous one...and it rarely ever does. I mean using your 'general-life attitude', you'd never have seen coming the rise of Udinese, Palermo, and Messina...and the fall of Roma, Lazio, and Parma.

How will Inter's season go? Who knows...thats why we all watch to find out...we actually have the same coach that we had last year, and that has to be a step in the right direction lol. Will things go wrong? Of course, but I'm going to hope Inter will come out on top anyway. I believe this group can handle the adversity...just remember that comeback against Sampdoria. :)

I think the reason why Adriano's performances with Inter against the big team hasn't been all the best is because of Inter's general play approach. We really found it hard to break down Milan clinically and Adriano came out poorly because he lacked opportunities. This is in contrast to when he was at Parma and Fiorentina where he really took the challenge and performed well against the big teams, due to a better peformance on a collective scale. Anyone remember that backheel against Milan?? This season I',m sure Mancini's tactics will have settled and the whole team can come to support Adriano better than before.

Ryan27
07-12-2005, 10:27 AM
Yeah Nismo, for me there is no doubt that Adriano is a big game performer. I want to say that this was the second straight year he played awesome against Argentina in a cup final, not entirely sure though...I feel like there is always something negative in the air when Inter play Milan, like some foreboding sense of doom. Not even Juve can mess Inter up like that....of course the problems against Milan are anything but Adriano's fault though, and hopefully the guys will finally get over it this year.

Maybe Gilardinho or Sheva are good, but like you say let`s be realistic, but there prices isnt like the great Adriano or even half his. I cant compare between the both and Adriano, playing with both feet is not something in Football (Sheva and Gila can play with both).. the great Maradonna was left footed and never played with right one, Pele was right footed and hardly played with the left (I m talking about Gods of football here).. Gila dont have Adriano`s power.. Sheva is like Henry he only can play in Serie A.. and the prove he dont have a history with the NT (just like Henry) Adriano can play with any team in any league.. Adriano has better Mentality.. Adriano can score form the middle of the field, and from impossible angls, Gila is a normal striker (box one) Sheva is the same NOW (limited striker) (and good in it no doubt).. he can score when he finds an open Goal or form a great through pass and he cant miss, and this is something great.. but all strikers on the earth can do what the do.. Gila`ll be something like Vieri, RVN, Raul.. but never like Adriano.. I didnt see something like Adriano before.. for God sake even Pelle is feeling gealous from Adriano, he feels like Adriano gona break his Record!! and you are telling me Gilardino or even Sheva!!!
I respect your opinion dude, but there are facts in this world that we must accept, It doesnt matter we belive or not belive cause it`s a fact.. Adriano is way better than Gila, and at the moment way better than older weaker sheva (last CL final have proved that Sheva is almost done, he dont have that past agressive attack.. he is weaker and cant act in the hard times), and ask Morinho about that ;)
Adriano is a striker form the legends old days, he have a deap full imagenation, he have the strenght and the courage to take the ball and try to dribble strongest Defenders in the world (against Nesta in the CL when he was injured!!) and he can shoot from impossibel distance and impossible angls.. no striker in this time have Adriano`s strenght and imagenation or mentality.. If Sheva and Gila can score countless goals.. then they arnt championships hunters (anymore for sheva), Adriano have taken 3 trophies in less than 3 years I guess!! dont you think that this is something! this is real.. cant you see it!? ;)

Thanks for the compliments on the new signature, I like it too. Our good friend Becks, SFN's new Super-Moderator kindly fixed it up for me - with one mistake though, it says La instead of Lo Scudetto :D . Oh well, he's done a good job apart from that...

With Roma the defending champs and Juve spending 100 million on players, I thought we had no chance, but we came so close yet so far on that occasion.
