I play provencial soccer and the quality of players improve every year
you have to train just about every day to keep up yet alone be a top player
and the national coaches are comming to our matches already 3 guys off my team have been put in the n.t.c just from our tryouts.
So the pace we are on right now in four years canada will be a strong team
to play.
Like here in edmonton we got 16 year old players getting invited to
middlesbrough and everton teams like that
so it will be good its just a matter of time

10 years ago was the same thing, we tought we would have a good team in the next 10 years and it didn't happen. Canada Youth often participates in the World Youth Cup even in the late 80' but the team never improves. Who do you play for provincial?

So true....we have many more young players going places like camps and international games. I play provincial soccer too and right now we have like 10 players going to camps and games and even being signed. 10 years ago this was quite rare. Youth soccer is definatly growing in Canada.

the caliber of soccer in Edmonton and Canada in general is improving. A friend of mine, John Pegg, is on the 1990 NTC team and is a year younger, kids like that will improve the caliber of soccer here in Canada. Also, kids getting scouted for English Clubs will most definately help Canada improve.

Can you guys believe, Owen Hargreaves who plays for Bayern Munich and the England National team was born in Calgary and moved to Europe as soon as his talent was known, so that he could get his citizenships and play for England National team.

Just imagine what a player and impact he would be to Canadian soccer. :D

Owen Hargreaves is also known as the fastest and fittest English player to play on the national team.

i have seen a few of these players at various ntc scouting weekends and club games including harman who is an exceptional centerback with great vision and tackling ability im actually surprised he hasnt been called upon for a while john pegg is a pacy well rounded 91 striker but i believe he has been suffering from a bad leg injury aswell as macus johnson( who should be on this list) manave deol is a small midfielder but has good distribution of the ball and playmaking vision. octavio maginnis is a strong powerful centerback with good aerial ability. the only othe player i have seen is rago but i believe he is at a soccer camp in italy for the year. Im surprised randy edwini is missing unless this is an older unconfirmed list for he is definatley worthy to be on a national team.

Yes he made the national team last year and
in fact scored 2 goals. The 90s are amazing
the problem is most of them will most likely
go and play for their parents home countries.

the problem is most of them will most likely
go and play for their parents home countries. It's funny how often I read that except nobody exceptional has done it save Owen Hargreaves. Our quality player's numbers and skill level will increase to the point where it won't matter if someone does. We're growing and the old countries aren't. Goodbye and good luck to them.

Like FY used to say if you don't want to play for the Leaf we don't need you.
