Garcia looks to Madrid
Real Madrid should open their summer transfer account next week with the signing of Osasuna's midfielder Pablo Garcia. Liverpool have captured Spanish 18-year-old Antonio Barragan from Sevilla while Stuttgart look to reshuffle under Giovanni Trapattoni by bringing in Portuguese veteran Luis Figo.
GARCIA HAS THE MADRID FEELING
Real Madrid have almost completed the signing of Pablo Garcia from Osasuna. The player's agent Paco Casal met with Real Madrid President Florentino Perez on Thursday to negotiate a possible deal.
"It could be next week, but it is true that the player wants to come here while the club also is interested in the player," Florentino Perez told Spanish sports daily Marca before adding, "However no deal has been made yet."
Garcia postponed his vacation to the Canary Islands to join his agent in the Spanish capital. Casal traveled Wednesday to seal Valencia's signing of Mario Regueiro, but returned to sort out the future of his other client.
"We hope Florentino continues his interest and we hope the deal can be completed as soon as possible," said Patxi Izco, president of the Pamplona club.
