-- 1st off, I apologise for posting ANOTHER boots thread, I know there r too many --

Ok, ***k, I got some Total IIIs and they r SG so I rarely wear em. They've always been really tight and its hurt to wear them too long, in addition to that I've rarely had to use them so they havent had much wear. At the weekend, I wore them for the 1st time for a full match (and I have to say they were GREAT, awesome touch and connection with shots). But afterwards I found they had been SO tight that my toe is bleeding beneath the nail :mad2: (not good, especially 2 play with the day after).

Does anyone have any ideas to break them in. And I'm talking about new ideas. I've done the water soaking and vaseline thing, I personally dont think it works coz these are synthetic. The only idea I can think of is getting someone with a similar sized foot to wear em for a bunch of training sessions and losen em up. But anyone got any better ideas? to help stretch these out a bit?

Cheers

i'm gunna be honest with you. i don't know! and thats the reason i don't buy nike. for the simple fact that i don't know if the shoe will stretch or not. i simply don't know if i have the right size on. i just can't tell. that and they look ugly to me. now the new uhlsport, phat.

I love 'em!

What color did you get?

I really never had a problem with breaking them in, they always form to my foot as I wear them. Took maybe a week of wearing them, and I don't even think I had a blister from my T90's which is REALLY unusual because I usually ALWAYS get a blister from new cleats.

Maroon and Silver. The colour wasnt my choice, because I got a sample for only $90AU which is crazy considering they were about $300AU in the stores at the time. Samples r those ones, if u dont know, which Nike sends out to all their stores so that they can see the response or something. - I wanted to try and scam some other store and exchange em for the red and white, but never did.

But Smithxi, its not really a case of Nikes boots not fitting well. It was just that I got a really small pair, coz that was the only choice I had.

Funny that, Saber. I never get blisters from boots n I sometimes do with these. The problem is, I think that I havent worn them consistently enough

I think I'm gonna scrunch newspapers up and pile em in, seems like the only way

Forget nike, get Adidas or anyother K-Leathers, the only good nike boots out there right now are the Legends with K-Leather.

Well maybe, but I hafta say i rate these boots highly.

Anyway the point is, the boots I use usually r Copa Mundials and Total IIs.

But I'm not just gonna forget these boots and go out and buy a new pair.

Well, I've resorted to shoving newspapers into the toe of the boot and treating it with a bit of vaseline. I doubt the vas will do nethin, but I'm hoping it'll just soften it a bit and help it to expand. I'll probably leave it for a week and hopefully they'll b nicely stretched.

Ne1 know ne reasons why I shudnt do this?

I'm not worried about it over expanding because these boots r so tight that despite me wearin a pair of the thinnest socks possible they still suffocate

man i feel for you. my world cups are just getting broken in. the blisters on the backs of my feet are huge. the one on the front of my foot was bleeding yesterday. for some reason my copa's were so much easier to break in than the world cups. it's starting to piss me off how bad they hurt. another week or so...

There is a devise that I know they use to use at your local shoe-shop that you put in, and its like a big toe and a heel, and has a screw thing in the middle. You put the device in and screw the thing with your hand and it should expand the shoe, like stretch it.

But I haven't seen these used in quite a while.

then you're loosing the perfect form it would make around your foot.

Nah I thought the same thing but though it might make them LONGER, it doesn't make them wider, but your foot will (supposedly) form to the width of your foot after you stretch the length out.

This is a technique that I have NOT used, so I'm not sure about, but I have read about, and seen the device, but again haven't used it.
