I dont think Park will play the complete forward, but will be a supporting forward behind the main 2 ( Rooney and RVN). He is expected to fill in Scholes place, who if MUTV is to be belived is showing signs of aging. I also doubt if Park will be a total starter. He and Scholes will be used interchangably, probably one of them in league and the other in CL and FA Cup.

I saw Park in the CL semi finals against AC Milan, and I must say Im impressed.. he can fill the gap in attack made by the aging keane and scholes...
Why doesnt Fergie buy some good defender... ??? Silvestre is a joke.

rio ferdinand.. he good.. but he should come to the drug tests on time :D
gary neville.. hes good too, has loads of experience also
john o shea.. he is an on/off player... some times he clicks.. sometimes he doesnt
heinze: he is good, but fouls a lot, gives away a million freekicks. along with keane, he can be part of the Man Utd pub hooligan team :D

My God! Why Bench Scholes? Aging!? Err...
*officially A Liverpool Supporter!!!*
Scholes Was One Of The Few Players To Actually Play Some Good Football This Season! He Scored A Few Goals, Made Brilliant Passes, And Gave The Club A Morale Boost!

Hmm i dont know if u guys realize that Park is not a foward he is a Midfielder. goes to show how rubbish some peoples knowledge about Park, prob 80% of the people havent even seen him play. He is definately not goign to replace rooney or RVN, But he definately has a chance of playing as much as Giggs, and scholes. i have followed most of Parks news and i'm hearing alot of good things said about him from SAF so i think we will see alot from Park this season.

With respect to the new player ....Giggsy, Scholsie and Keano are gods to him and the only thing he can do is bow down in comparison.
I don't actually beleive that Park is going to be able to replace anybody. And I don't think Giggsy and Scholsie are the ones aging, but Sir Alex is probably the one! That's why he's been making alot of hilarious unreasonable jokes lately such as " Fletcher will replace Beckham" and " Park is going to be another Giggs" .....LOL

The season hasn't even started yet and people are already doubting Park, that's pretty sad because I guess you people don't know what he is capable of.
Becks
08-06-2005, 07:37 PM
That is the point - We know what he is capable of. We also know what our club needs. He is a good player, no doubt, but we just don't need him.

Obviously you need new players in both midfield and defence, but in the striking position so far only Rooney and Ruud match Park's youth and talent although Ruud doesn't currently have his form so I wouldn't put him infront of Park. So why not say you don't need Saha or Bellion or Smith etc...
There's a reason why Fergie bought him, but then again I could be wrong, it could just be that rich american guy that owns ManUtd trying to make profits from Asian countries off of Park. :D
gresaa*cr7
08-07-2005, 04:51 PM
well what a dumb profit that was...because instead of using the money to buy someone WE NEED we sort of wasted it away on someone who might end up on the bench most of the time...
Becks
08-07-2005, 05:20 PM
We don't really need a midfield right now, maybe next season. Cristiano, Giggs, Scholes, and Keane can hold that one down. And with Smith beginning to play more in the midfield, it is a possibility that could benefit our club.
Strikers: Rooney, Van Nistelrooy, Saha, Smith, Bellion.
We need to get rid of Saha, he is not an asset, but just an injury prone bench player. He is injured now actually.
What has Bellion ever done for us? Sell him or loan him.
Now we can keep Smith, Ruud, and Rooney. Smith is true class, and in 2004, he took up Ruud's position and scored beautiful goals for the club.
Sell Saha and Bellion, bring in some more defenders that will actually play without getting a suspension. (Ferdinand.) and actually have some class (Silvestre...)

Man Utd chase Brazilian defender
Cicinho could be coming to the Premiership
Manchester United are keen to sign £8m-rated Brazilian right-back Cicinho, who BBC Sport understands has flown to England for talks at Old Trafford.
The 25-year-old Sao Paulo defender would not require a work permit as he qualifies for a European passport through his Italian grandfather.
Milan and Juventus have also been tracking Cicinho, who is tipped to replace Cafu in the national team.
But United seem in pole position to sign the player on a four-year deal.
Cicinho has been capped by Brazil six times and was impressive during the recent Confederations Cup.
Should he join United, it could signal the end for Gary Neville, whose brother Phil left the club to join Everton last week.
And it may go some way to appease fans concerned there is no money for transfers following Malcolm Glazer's takeover.

Cicinho in threat to Neville
Daniel Taylor
Friday August 12, 2005
The Guardian
Gary Neville's future at Manchester United has been plunged into doubt after it emerged that the club were willing to spend £8m on another right-back, the Brazil international Cicinho.
A week after his brother Phil severed his ties with Old Trafford to join Everton, Neville's position suddenly looks vulnerable with the news that Sir Alex Ferguson has invited the 25-year-old Sao Paulo defender to join the club.
The transfer is far from clear-cut, not least because Milan and Juventus have also expressed firm interest, but Ferguson is optimistic of exploiting a get-out clause in Cicinho's contract to tie up a deal that would have serious ramifications for one of his most loyal and reliable players.
Cicinho's highly impressive performances in helping Brazil to win the Confederations Cup persuaded Ferguson to invite him to Old Trafford on Wednesday to look around the stadium and the club's training facilities at Carrington.
United are acting on information that Cicinho and his agent Juliano Leonel are understood to have visited Milan and Turin over the last few weeks for talks about a move to Serie A.
A fast, attack-minded player, he would represent significant competition for the right-back spot that Neville has made his own over the last 10 years. One certainty is that Neville, who turned 30 in February, will not give up his spot without a fight, but there would also be a strong argument that Cicinho is simply too good to leave out.
He now has six international caps and, though the regular incumbent Cafu, 36, remains immensely popular in Brazil, there is a growing wave of opinion there that Cicinho should succeed him in next year's World Cup.
Last week, Cicinho indicated that he had decided to stay in Brazil for one final season, believing it would help him in his battle with Cafu. "If I play in Brazil," he said, "I have more chance of being called to the national team and that is my objective."
United hope the prospect of a £50,000-a-week contract will help Cicinho to change his mind and they will be encouraged that he flew to Italy last weekend to gather proof that he had an Italian grandfather, meaning he could qualify automatically for a European Union passport and would not then have to apply for a work permit.
However, they do not just have to contend with competition from Italy's two biggest clubs but also the additional complications of dealing with a player from Brazil whose registration is apparently divided between several parties.
"He is in Europe and he must be negotiating with a club because his agent is with him," said a Sao Paulo spokesman. "We have not had any offers from English clubs and any negotiation must be accepted by Sao Paulo, who own 60% of his sporting rights."

Gary Neville has been ManUtd's legendary left back for years now, it was obvious that Phil Neville would leave because Phil simply sucks... his brother Gary is better and that's why Gary has stayed.
Cicinho replaced Roberto Carlos in Brazil National Team in the confed cup and showed his talent.
Cicinho would be the perfect sub for Gary or the other way around.
Gary has the skill and experience but Cicinho has more attacking speed, youth, talent etc.. etc.. and if ManUtd get Cicinho is will be a good decision because AC Milan are already looking to add Cicinho in their squad.
