Maybe Bulgaria is better at qualifying for the Euro than for the World Cup.
Since the '94 world cup run, Bulgaria did not qualify for WC 1998 or WC 2002 and will not qualify for WC 2006.

But in the Euro, they qualified in 1996 and 2004. So, like you said, we are good at Euros...as is Bulgaria.

All this proves is that the standard of competition has imroved in the last 15 years. Just because you win a major competition doesnt guareantee you anything. In saying that i have all confidence that greece will make the wc and all people like you are trying to do is make themselvves feel better about their own team's failure .

I already knew about Bulgaria making WC 1998. I put that there cuz I knew you were going to post something, like you did, about the countries' history in soccer. You come into this forum and bad-mouth Greece's euro cup triumph for absolutely no reason.

I have nothing against Bulgaria and I happen to like Bulgarians. In fact, I admired Bulgaria in 1994 for making the semi-final and beating big teams like Argentina and Germany. I supported them, even though we lost 4-0. But you obviously have something against Greece. I understand our Cup bothering Turks, Albanians, and Skopians but now its apparently bothering Bulgarians, Serbs(our closest ally) and pretty much eveybody else in the Balkans, even if it has been a year. Dude, relax. Big teams win big because they take advantage of others teams mistakes. The Portugal goalie was out of place in the goal that was scored by Charisteas (now you know how's its spelled). But, teams who make mistakes dont deserve to win. You're basing Greece's entire Eurocup on that goal when you look back at what Greece did and how they won games and how they scored amazing and dramatic goals.

Japan tied Brazil 2-2 in a game where if Brazil lost, they would have been knocked out. You say we couldnt beat Japan. Brazil couldnt beat them and yet this same Brazil team beat Germany, in Germany 3-2, and trounced Argentina 4-1 in the final.

I have nothing against Bulgaria. Even when they beat us 4-0 in 1994 wc, i still supported them and was impressed that they beat Argentina and Germany and made it to the final four. But this guy Martin Petrov starts trashing us for no reason.

All championship teams, in any sport, have some luck when they win it all. But, you make it sound like Greece won purely on luck.

In the division games, Portugal-Greece 1-2 (Greece played solid defense and Portugal did not play well). Against France, we were the better team in the first half. In the first 15 minutes of the second half, france was better. When Greece scored in the 65 minute, (great header) we played defense the rest of the way

Against Czech Republic, Czech were the better team in the regular time. In the overtime, we were the better team as the Czechs played defense to try to send the game into penalty kicks. we scored at the last minute of the first half (great header)

Against Portugal in the final, up until the 57th minute when greece scored, greece played defense and portugal hardly had chances. After the goal, portugal had chances to score

Bulgaria national team has had more appearances than us. True. But all those appearances add up to zero cups. We are still in the running for second place in our division. I dont know why u think we are already out. Even if we dont make it, we still have to defend our cup for euro 2008.

Its happened twice before that a Eurochamp has not qualified for a WC. It was a golden opportunity for Greece to go into a World Cup as a Eurochamp. I hope Albania can knock out Turkey and let Denmark get second place.
