Fasting is not a good idea. Drink lots of water and eat foods that have umm I think their called anti-oxidants. And steam room helps too, but not for too long (20 min.).

cool, i'll do that. yeah my friend fasted. i know he really cleansed his body out well, but he did it for too long. like he went into the fast with a goal of seeing how long he can do it. he ended up crashing his car at the end of his fast when he had like 3 beers. all accidental, but i wasn't sure of my other options.

anti-oxidants huh. oranges, apples?

Not unsafe if you do it for a controlled period of time, and use freshly squeezed organic fruit and veggies. Drink fruit during the day and veggies at night. You may feel a bit nauseous for the first 2 days which is followed by an increase in energy the following days. I'd suggest not doing it for longer than 5 days initially, and DO NOT break the fast by eating regular foods right away. Soups and steamed veggies at first, then slowly reintroduce foods.

Also, jumping mildly on a trampoline will help excrete more of the toxins from the system...works on your lymphatics.

it removes toxins from your body. probably less indigestion, less toxic acids in your body, etc. i really don't know that much about it myself. my friend said it can remove kidney stones. ouch.

rio_georgio

its not really easy to get or get rid of kidney stones. i don't think drinking water and taking vitamin c tablets would be all that effective. i mean, fast food has so much useless stuff in it that it'd be kinda hard to flush em all out.

What are kidney stones, someone explain?

I wouldn't worry that much about flushing toxins...Usually if you are properly hydrated then your body will usually naturally flush them out.

naw, saber you know nothing about it then. i like you a lot, but you don't know what i mean. i mean like flushing the small and large intestins. a lot of stuff builds up in the body from food that stays there unless you flush it certain ways. i'm talking about fasting drinks. stuff you drink when you fast. my friend might help me do it, or tell me how to do it. i dunno if i will or not, i'll get back to you.

Increase natural energy...can help in many ways..might even add to your training, your mental outlook, force generation, muscle building etc.

Really? My Cross Country coach always told me that when you ran alot you produced some kind of acids in your muscles and you just needed to run and hydrate yourself to get rid of them...I thought that was what yall are talking about, I honestly haven't ever heard of the stuff in your large/small intestine.

Can someone elaborate like what it is, and why it helps to clean it?

Really? My Cross Country coach always told me that when you ran alot you produced some kind of acids in your muscles

It's a by-product called lactic acid, and it's produced anytime your muscles do hard work. Incidentally your body can also reconvert it into energy if you do long distance work...run a bit slower at about 60% of your max and go for longer. Yes keep hydrated.

I honestly haven't ever heard of the stuff in your large/small intestine.

Can someone elaborate like what it is, and why it helps to clean it?

Well your small intenstive is responsible for 90% absorption of your nutrients. If it is clogged up, you guessed it, you can eventually become malnourished. What helps to clean it? Some people suggest using bits of bentonite clay in fruit juices...they say the clay has properties that helps to absorb toxins lodged in the small intestine. As far as the Large intestine is concerned, that's where your shit is stored and excreted from...or expelled from. If you eat too much and it goes unabsorbed it can build up in the large intestine. Since the other job of the large intestine is to absorb water, if there are a lot of toxins built up there then they can be reabsorbed into the body. This is called auto-intoxication...that is becoming toxic on your own without external factors.

If you are having problems eliminating (less than 2 bowel movements ((SHITS)) per day, or constipated) try adding more fiber to your meals (raw fruits and veggies) or go down to your local health food store and get some 'psyllium husk' and also add this to freshly squeezed fruit juices. It will help keep you regular :rolling:

You don't have to fast, but changing your diet is important as well as regular exercise.

First and foremost, drink lots of water, more than you would normally and keep drinking, your urine should be clear.
Eat mostly fruit and vegetables because they have anti-oxidants that helps regenerate your cells, as well as keeping you regular.
Eat very little meat, in fact none if you can and substitute it for fish, which has valuable properties.
Eliminate all dairy products.
Use extra virgin olive oil as the preffered oil on salads.
Do not have any fried food, soft drinks, coffee, processed food eg cheese, biscuits, alcohol, chocolate or any junk food.
Try to substitute rice instead of wheat products and biodynamic oats in the morning is great and add raw honey instead of sugar for sweetner.
If you can get organic produce, all the better.
Squeeze half a lemon in a small glass of warm water as the first drink you have every morning.
Drink ginger tea - get a whole root, cut a small piece off and put it in a mug of bioling water. Have at least three times a day.
Drink green tea. Again three times day is great and make sure it's unfermented.
Take Vitamin C and Hesperidin powder, as instructed on pack.
Gingko Complex is also good, but all vitamin supplements are subjective to the individual and it is best to see a naturopath to decide on a program that suits you.
Use non-fluoride toothpaste and aluminium free deodorant.
Have a dry brush massage all over your body every morning before a shower.
Take an epsom-salt bath at night and tuck into bed doing a few deep breathing exercises.
Remember to exercise at least for thirty minutes a day. Doesn't have to be strenuous.Yoga is really good as it combines exercise with deep breathing to fine tune the body.
Your attitude should be positive, with no ill feeling to others. Meditation can help with calming the mind.
So in a nut shell the more water you drink and raw foods you have the better. Of course DO NOT SMOKE.
Smile, say hello to a neighbour and use public transport where you get out into the world and as well as reducing pollution it all adds up to a healthier environment around you.
And for all those vane people out there, if you follow all these pointers you will just glow and stay young looking for a very long time...

PS: the thing that you put in your backside is called a collonic irrigation and I've heard it is good for clearing clogged up intestine.

Good luck, go for it, start today and don't give up because it isn't easy, so keep trying...the rewards are worth it!! ;)

So basically if you aren't crapping you need to flush?

Well yeah, if you aren't 'crapping' do something about it fast...drink a whole bottle of prune juice and don't leave your home for a few hours ;)

But there's more to it than constipation. If anyone is really interested just google "fasting" or "bowel cleansing"

It's important to eliminate toxins from the system. The three best ways:

1 - Sweat man! Sweating utilyzes your biggest organ - the skin (believe it or not the skin is considered an organ just like your liver, pancrease, etc are.

2 - Stay regular (take good shits). So eat loads of fiber in your diet, not so much meat only, but augment with high-fiber vegetables

3 - Breathe!! Take regular hikes into the mountains to breathe fresh air and raise your VO2

If you start having problems in any area, toxins will build up.

Eliminate without going too extreme. A couple of days Juice fasting (5-7) a couple of times a year is good too. I have a friend who fasts once a week on nothing but distilled water (every Sunday), and once a month for 2 days on fruit juices. He has a rock solid physique because he weight trains for strength and his routine is functional...he doesn't use conventional weights, but body-weight exercises, and also runs a lot too 25-30 k per week.

He claims that fasting is the secret to his success because it periodically shuts down the need to focus the bodys resources on digesting, and instead the body focuses on eliminating and reducing stress from toxin build up.

One day I'll pick his brain for more specifics, and if I can I'll post them here.

Cheers

wow, this flushing business sounds serious. i wonder why nobody has started a clinic or made a prescription drug to help people flush toxins out of their bodies. wouldn't it be so much easier than drinking prune juice and green tea with ginger tea and lemon water every day.

smithy if you want to really detox you have to eliminate all animal products, but that doesn't mean forever...replace it with tofu and vegie cheese, yes there is such a product and then have a little dairy after at least a month, but preferably three months. You should see a naturopath for a precise program that will outline a diet that suits you best.
Try to have as little dairy as possible when you get on it again and try to get goat's milk, which our system can digest easier. Choose white cheese over yellow, such as feta which is tasty and has the salt you need, and if you get organic produce all the better.
Remember detox isn't easy and you may feel worse before you feel better, but don't give up, the rewards are worth it.
Don't forget regular exercise, which you should increase slowly. Walking, swimming and yoga are the best...and meditation is also great.
Good luck...

There are many health clinics around the world and it's a growing industry. Drinking teas and juices isn't hard and their are prescription drugs, but our bodies need 'living waters' in juices, fruits and vegetables that also have roughage and are the 'material' that we need to regenerate our cells. Plus you don't really know what's in those pills and they're not very filling of course. Try to get organic as well...

as soon as my car gets fixed i'm going to the organic food store to buy some soy milk and some citrus extract, and probably some lemons. i'll look for other healthy things to buy like you say.

tofu... now i remember. i want to buy some tofu.

just go and pick up a box of tofu meat patties, and have a bbq. i'll bet a tofu burger is gonna taste a lot better than just tofu in a salad or something.

i dunno. i had some tofu the other day at a restaurant with this like tereyake and coconut sauce on it. it didn't even taste like tofu. it was so good. later that night i went to a japanese restaurant (odd i ate out twice that night) and had the nastiest tofu ever. huge hard mushrooms in it. it was pretty gross.
