Well Ferdiaslan reminded me about very important subject, foriegn player limits, to discuss. So what do you guys think about that? Fenerbahce applyed to TFF for Anelka to consider him as a not foriengn player since he is a European player. Since we are not in EU, that would be stupid but Turkish players has European status in Europe such as Rustu at Barcelona starting from this year, Nihat and I believe Emre as well. I dont know the rest.
Some ppl says it will be very bad for Turkish football to consider European as a Turkish player status. They think this decision will take Turkish football and Turkish NT in a bad direction because all the teams will started buy European players. I think for the next 3-4 years it will be good but after that it will star to go down as what happens to French NT, Italian NT. BUT, we are not in that level to that! In oder to that we should have at least 15-20 high quality Turkish players in European leagues, then we might start to think about it. BUT FOR NOW NOOO! Max it shoulf be 7 foriegn players not more then that!

i think that on each *MATCH SQUAD* there should be a max of 5 foreign players but no limit on the amount in the whole team for example u could buy foreign youngsters with potential so u can make them stars in future and not worry about wasting a foreigner place by not playing them until they have matured?got better. clubs wud still have 5 foreign stars in their team
it would help clubs and still keep they development of NT

I`m sorry for interrupting, but what about that rule that every club will have to have at least 5 youth players in squad or something? I don`t have quite clear picture about that.

I think it means you have to have 5 youth players in your squad but not match squad and these players has to come from your youth center.
Ferdiaslan, I think what you said is way better. That way, as you said, teams can have star foriegns but at the same time, they can have talented youngster in the squad.

this is a good topic...
many foriegn players will mean better performance in the CL, but it will affect the NT's chances as local players will remain inexperienced. Less foreign players means lesser crowds ( as foreign players are crowd pullers as they are bought only if they are good), less CL sucess but bigger pool of local talent to choose from for the NT.
A balance is required.

Yeah but otherwise clubs success in CL or UEFA Cup less that way. Ok young talents will have some experience but we must have at least 6 foreign players so the local players can learn things from them to combine the talents. For example, Fenerbahce has player like ALex de Souza. In everyway he is a great player. He plays for Brazilian natioanl team, captain material, superb teqniec(spelling?). Local players learn things from him in the trainings. Like Hagi tought a lot to Emre Belezoglu(who plays for Inter), when they both were playing for Galatasaray. The best way I think as Ferdiaslan said, to have 6 foriegn player limit in the game squad.
For Europe, I think Europe is making big mistake by that European Union player status. As we see most of the European Big-Gun NT's are going down. They should go back to the system that Turkey uses. Only 6 foriegn players can be in one team or what Ferdiaslan said. That way there is a better balance!

thats good analysis refeto... but one point that we forgot... i will tell the case of the bundesliga, as i am not much familiar with the turkish league. In Bundesliga, its generally the bigger clubs like Bayern, Schalke, Vfb etc who have lots of foreign stars. This means the untested German players have to make a start from a lower level club. This can also produce talents, as starting in a lower club and rising to be a great player playing among average people is more difficult than starting among superstar players. Podolski, Mertesacker, Metzelder are all examples of this. I think situation is same in all Europe. In Turkey too, apart from fernerbahce, galatasray, besiktas , the other clubs would have very less foreign players.
Also another rule shoud be introduced, and that is that a club should not be allowed to buy a foreign player if it has a local player of comparable standards. If club still wants the foreign player, let them sell the local player to another club, where he will get chance to play and not be only a substitute. No point in getting weak foreign players.

See problem with that is when weaker teams buys foriegn players they buy from Africa or Brazil for cheap but Turkish players are way more expensive then them. So they afford the Turkish players since our league quality way better then African leagues. Also you cant really judge player like that to sell! Also I have to say, foriegn players in SuperLig are that good(except Alex de Souza, Anelka, Ribery(transfered to France), Conceiao(transfered to Greece), Youla, Aurelio, Pancu). Although I think Fenerbahce is transfering couple big names this season. Anyway, you theory would not work in Turkey.
