The agent of rising Croatian football star Niko Kranjcar was murdered, police said.

Dino Pokrovac, 43, "was shot dead by an unknown perpetrator at the entrance into his building," a police spokesman told journalists.

He was one of the agents of Kranjcar, 20, who signed in January with first division Hajduk Split for 1.5 million euros (1.8 million dollars).

Last year Pokrovac's car was set alight but the police have still to find those responsible for the attack.

Kranjcar, son of national coach Zlatko Kranjcar, scored the final goal at a World Cup qualifier against Bulgaria last Saturday which Croatia won 3-1

It's got nothing to do with Niko, Dino just got connected with wrong people (well, people like himself) and got shot in the head (several times). Maybe he was in debts towards mafia and got erased. :cool:

And the best thing is that if you are a criminal, you're protected and live good (untill someone shot you down). It was so funny when after several mafia murders, police arrested one mafia clan and after year or so, they were all released and find not guilty and not being mafia although everyone knows they are.

Hajduk will begin training on the 16th of June (already end of next week) and they will have their preperations in Zrece (Slovenia). Hajduk will play Publikum (June 26) Salzburg (29th) GAK (July 1). They will continue in Austria, on the 3rd of July they will play a now unknown opponent and two days later against Pasching. They will return to Slovenia to play Maribor on the 7th.
July 14 is the Croatian Supercup against Rijeka and the first round of the HNL will be on July 23 (a week earlier than usual, maybe because of the WC)
