How do you celebrate your goals? Like SaberWolf said the celebration can be very entertaining.

It really depends on how important the goal was. When we were playing in the War Horse Tournament at our school, when we scored the game winning point (with only a minute and a half left) me, I had the assist, and Paul, the guy who had the goal, ran to the goal and started doing pull-ups on the goal. Thats probably the best I've ever done.

I usually average, the shoe shine, or run back to my team and jump into them.

Here is a bunch of celebrations:

1. Grab the ball from the back of the net and kick it up and when the ball hits the ground, your teammates fall down. (like it is a bomb)

2. Run to the corner flag and get down on all fours and lift up a leg and pretend to be a dog...

3. Run to the corner flag and start boxing with it.

4. Run to the corner flag and bend it forwards and your teammates run towards you and you pretend to shoot em' down with the flag. (as a gun)

5. The same one SaberWolf posted in a different thread; Grab the ball from the net and roll it towards 6 guys in a triangle and pretend they are bowling pins. (and they fall over)

Funny you should mention that, because we have two defenders on my team that had something like that, but not when they scored, when they made a great stop or stopped a really good run at goal...

One would kneel down infront of the other and put his elbow against his body and put his palm up (facing the offense) and the other defender got behind him and grabbed his shoulder and swiveled him back-and-forth and made the sounds. They later said they were "mowing them down". It was classic.

Here is a few more:

After scoring a goal, run towards the audience and pretend that your scoring leg is on fire. Then one of your teammates gets a REAL fire exstinguisher and sprays your leg. (this has to be planned)

After scoring a goal, (this one is kinda similiar to all the gun ones) get all your teammates to get in a "V" shape and spread their arms out like geese and they make bird sounds and "fly" towards the opposite goal and you bring out the rifle and shoot em' down.

After scoring a goal, (this one ALSO is like the shooting ones) you stand at the top of the penalty area, then you pretend to pull an arrow out of your arrow holder on your back and set the "arrow" on your "bow" and fire it at the goalie.

After scoring a goal, (jeez, I hate typing that) (oh, by the way, this one has to be planned too) get on the opposite goal line (after grabbing a baseball bat) and your teammate gets the soccer ball and pretends to be pitching a baseball at you (except with a soccer ball) and you belt it way out and another teammate tries to catch it, but instead, it hits him on the head and he falls down.

on monday i'm starting in a coed league. i'm guessing it's going to be fairly simple. if i score a lot of goals i'm gunna try and be humble about it. if i score a few hard earned goals i'm gunna scream so loud i'll be so happy.

i haven't played on a team since 15. i'm now 21.

my head wasn't into the game like i it is now.

i just gotta get good. i know i've gotten a lot faster the past couple years. i gotta get in shape and get a few good moves down. my shooting is good.

Wow... pretty funny celebrations! But I gotta know, have any of you actually done these before? If so, what type of game was it in (competetion level)? how did the other team react? and how did the ref react (card or no card)?

Funny this thread should come up... Because I always find that I have a celebration in mind but cannot execute it when I score, for some reason. For example, last weekend, HUGE match, I had this celebration planned all year - to run and then pull my shirt off and jump to the ground in a fit, yelling 'Ahhhh Cobras! Ahhhh! (a joke I have with my friends, from the Simpsons, know it?). But then, when I did score, I couldnt. I just ran screaming my ass off to the crowd (kinda like Stevie G -v- Milan).

I think the only time I've mustered up the excitement to take my shirt off was in one particular tournament (6-aside) where I scored probably my best goal to put our team up 3-2 in extra time... But even then there was no organisation!

I have to say Henry's celebrations are the best... there just cheeky little things but work

if it was an important game or a beautiful goal i would overdo it but if its just a regular goal running and screaming do it. \just let out your excitment

I've done the pull-up one, and I've personal see the ones I described, the bowling one was on a play-off game (really high intensity).

Run upto the corner flag, pull it out and turn the flag upside down, take a swipe like a golf drive, and then look into the distance.

Classic.

lol, I have a few, but I have gotten in trouble for a few... and almost had a game-winning-goal revoked for `poor sportsmanship`

One of my favoutires, a classis, that I (ahem) `borrowed` from the NFL. After you score, collect the ball, and get a few teammates to stand in the around you in a corner. Throw the ball up in the air, duck down with your ears in your fingers (like something LOUD is gonna go off) then when you see the ball hit the ground, pretend like its a bomb and fly backwards. Never gotten in real trouble for this one, just a warning or two.

Rogger Milla`s flag wiggling is also a classic.

Just do a lap of honour to piss the other team off. (bring a flag to, lol, it really pisses the ***k outta the other team) Gotten in trouble for this one.

When its POURING of rain, and you score from far out (18 yrds is enough) then just sprint to the 6 yrd box and dive into the net...if the grass is wet enough, you should actually get real speed going...Of course you dont have to slide in to the net...but its funnier when you get `tangled up` **wink Wink*** NEver gotten in real trouble from this one, just from the coach...

One of my personal favourties: The pretend cartwheel back flip
Now weve all seen one or more football players do this. its pretty simple... Run, cartwheel, backflip. I got the idea to try and prtend to do be able to do it, and i pretty much just ***ked it up. i put my hands on the ground, did a sort of donkey kick, stood back up, fell onj my back, and got my friends to help me do a back roll

Of course, there is the taking your shirt off, but I always wear my Japan jersey underneath (yes I have been yellow carded for this one, twice)

This is different, a question to everyone. AS I mentioned before, My team almost had a winning goal in inury time revoked, because I went into the net, to collect the ball, came back out and booted it as high as I could...apparently it was a waste of time, and the ref wanted to try and revoke the goal, until he was told by another ref that this goal celebration was allowed...any one else have problmes with celebrations?

Has anyone tried sliding on their knees? I thought that might kill so I decided agianst it. ...And if you have done it; How much does it hurt?

I like the "Ball Bomb" one. But refs can't revoke a goal no matter what you do. They can only punish the player for their celebration, they can't punish the team. They usually only will card you, if your celebration isn't "tasteful".

For example, they'll card for ANYTHING that includes you putting the other team down, but they let alot of stuff go, unless its not tasteful, or it is to long.

What position you play?

I met a boy this year, that showed me you don't need speed to play soccer. He played defense during the beggining of the year, because my coach wouldn't put him as a forward because he is kinda short and chubby.

But in our second game he got the ball and WALKED (more of a slow jog, you can't walk on the field) the ball down the field, and crossed up 4 people and scored a goal. From then on he played right forward on our team and scored 8 goals this season.

Too bad they started giving cards for taking off shirts. It used to not be so until FIFA changed the rules.

I don't necessarily agree with the rule, but it's cocky and unsportsmanlike so...

i use on of four :
1. Kiss the index finger and hold it up high and then to sign of the cross.
2.Scream my arse of and shake my clinched fists in a frenzy
3. fall to the ground and do a sign of the cross
4. the garcia fing 'shove ya thumb in ya mouth'

or just simply hold arm up in victory
