Yeah, this was the 1st season they aired here, so far it's only been Finnish Idols, of which we are getting a new season shortly. The horror! But I actually downloaded the episodes off the Internet, because I didn't want to be 2 weeks behind and the drowned-by-the-band singing is much better with headphones than on TV. I only watched a few episodes here and there myself before Bo had to go and sing Time in a Bottle, which is like my favourite song ever, so I kinda got hooked... :o

There were quite a few talented singers in the competition but Mr Bice was still light years ahead. I guess doing that sort of stuff for like 20 years showed...(Love his former bands' stuff!) Anyways, I hope you're right about him going further, though he's already shared the stage with the likes of Willie Nelson and is supposedly recording with Santana so he's off to a good start I'd say. Plus the people who voted for him are mostly past their teens so they have a longer attention span. Umm...topic? I guess I'd be a bit selfish taking him to a deserted island with me, might hurt his career.

Have you ever even watched it? It's not shit, though it is a mean mean machine only designed to make money and it does get people's hopes up and then crush them. But sometimes, just sometimes, it does make dreams come true. It's sad how in a country filled with struggling musicians there are talented people who have dedicated their lives to music, recorded a few albums, but have ended up in quitar shops with occasional weekend gigs in local bars. When one of those people get a chance then that's when I am grateful to a show like AI.
