FIFA has notified the Hellenic Football Federation that the referee of the match Greece vs Ukraine (8/06/05, «G. Karaiskakis» stadium), Graham Poll (ENG), has been replaced due to injury by referee Renatus Temmink (NED). Assistant referees Mike Tingey and Phillip Richard Sharp have been replaced by Adrian Inia and Jantinus Meints, whilst 4th Official will be Pieter Vink in place for Stephen Graham Bennett.

We need to get a minimum of 4 points i dont care which way it goes, if we get maximum points from turkey and lose or draw with ukraine than its fair to say we are an excellent chance of utleast a play off and if we beat ukraine but lose or draw with the turks than it might become a three horse race for automatic qualification, either way a few gray hairs are on their way. Unfortunately with the tie against turkey we just gave ukraine qualification into the World Cup barring any major colapse. And I don't see that happening with they way they are playing and team they have.

The same way I was saying that a draw in Ukraine would be a good result for us, it would be a good result for them on wednesday. We have to win this game. They would have 1st place guaranteed with a tie. I see them losing and than drawing against the turks to bring us even with them and gives us the tie breaker. I believe that the 2nd to last game at denmark is our hardest game that remains. Wednesday game isn't a sure thing but I see it as in the bag.

I can't believe what happened yesterday. I just woke up by a terrible sleep...

Totally domination. Possesion must was 70-30. 2 goals cancelled as off-side. Many more chances at the first hald. Ukraine one shot in the whole game and they won... Too bad that some guys that haven't seen the game are talking...

I can't blame our players because they had the chances. And after all they have made us all so proud last year. But the truth that I have said again is that they need more training in finishing and the team needs some new young players. The hopes for qualify now are not dead, but they are very few... I am pessimistic on that.

There Is No Reason For This. We Outplayed Them And Got Very Unlucky. The First Goal Didn't Seem To Be Offside But Anyway. The Second Offside Wasn't Called Till After The Goal Was Scored Which I Didn't Like. And That Was A Penalty For Vryza. Even in the games we played defence (like the one with Czech in euro) our appearance was not like Ukraine's yesterday. Ukraine scored with half a chance. I don't remember such apearance of Greece the last years. If you do please mention the game and the date. I didn't see the game Greece Vs Ukrain, only some higlights. But from what you say it is identical to the one they played in Albania.
They had only two crosses in the penalty area (one from a corner kick and one from a free kick) and scored twice. Really nothing more than that. They just stayed in their own half defending even when it was still 0-0.

What was funny to see is after the Albanians beat the Greeks in September they celebrated in Astoria NY under the same part we celebrated the EURO cup victories after each game. Difference 1. 15000 greeks celebrated while 40 Albanians celebrated that time. 2. Cops closed the streets for us and didn't for you. 3. Even in the games we played defence (like the one with Czech in euro) our appearance was not like Ukraine's yesterday. Ukraine scored with half a chance. I don't remember such apearance of Greece the last years. If you do please mention the game and the date. Everytime you leave open threads after the game is done it usually starts arguments, just look in the serbian thread at the Italy Vs Serbia posts. Greeks also have this happening in the Turkey vs greek thread and now they have it happening here.
