Do you guys have a pre-game routine?

This season I've really started believing in it. I think its good to find one that works for you. This is mine.

> Try and drink 2 litres of water before the match (this fully-hydrates you)
> Eat a big high carb (complex carbohydrates), low fat (it takes longest to digest) meal 3 hours before kick-off
> Have a small top-up snack, if I require it, 90 minutes after. Maybe a banana, something high in protein is actually good.
> Drink a cooled glass of Ginseng tea 1/2 hour before kick-off (supposed to be good for sodium levels - the electrolytes which sports drinks replenish)

I read up quite a bit and I got this together through what I found on the net.

What's yours?

I do just about the same as you, except the Ginseng tea. I generally get enough of the sodium I need throughout the day with meals. If I need anything else I usually have watered down gatorade/powerade. And I think you meant to say something high in potassium is good (at least, if you're referring to the banana, they're high in potassium). I always have a banana before a match because the potassium helps to prevent cramps.

Potassium from Bananas and Sodium from the tea (I am pretty sure)

Both are electrolytes, n yeah they help prevent cramps
