As things show, that is going to be the name of the new modern AEK stadium at Nea Philadelfia. If everything goes good the stadium will be ready at 20 months.

It is taken for the great church Agia Sofia at Constantinupolis, because AEK comes from there.

It will take time to see the stadium, because AEK has serious financial problems. I think that their president wants to stay long time in the OAKA for free.

The responsible for the stadium project is businessman Dimitris Melissanidis , who is going to buy the AEK youngster teams etc. The cost is going to be 75 million euro. 73% of them will be a loan and 27% will be given by Melissanidis and the other shareholders of AEK.

The starium is not going to be very big, about 36,500 seats.

Daaaaaaaamn...75 million euro for 36500 seats stadium? Dont you think its quite a lot for a stadium at that capacity? I mean the Istanbul Olympic Stadium completed where the champions league final took place was 99 million euro with a 81000 capacity and the stadium is a five-star stadium. Since it is a Olympic stadium, it has so many extras that it has to have, if you compare with the Agia Sofia Stadium. They are ripping AEK man!

1st of all, as this is my 1st post to this forum, hi to every1.. My english are rather bad so you'll have to make an effort to understand what i say..

"Agia Sofia" will cost (if ever built) aproximately 73 mil euros because apart from having 36500 seats and being a 4 star stadium it will also have facillities for all other sports except basketball. It will also have a 11000 sq. meters trade center (plaza). However Mellissanidis does not have the support of the fans that Demis Nikolaidis (CEO of AEK FC).

The later wishes to move AEK from homeground New Filadelfia (AEK owns 30 sq km there which are considered very few) to another place to build a stadium around 50.000 seats with bigger plaza. That's because this year AEK had 28000 fans per game and 17.000 season tickets. For next year calculations indicate that AEK will have around 25.000 season tickets sold (already there have been sold 12.000 season tickets for next year!!!)

You mean how many are going in the stadiums? It depends. They are some teams that they have average attendance 500 people LOL :silly: . AEK's average this season was about 30.000-40.000 I think. In important games they were more

Well I am not satisfied about the whole situation. The teams that had the biggest average attendance this season were Olympiakos, AEK and Ergotelis (if I can day the same about Panathinaikos because our stadium is small for a team like pao-only 17000). But more than half of the teams have low attedances in most of the matches.... Most of Greek people love football and watch Greek league every weekend from TV, the main reason that keeps them away for the stadiums is hooliganism.

The English pronounce it more correctly with the 'h' in front of it but the word is ''Agia''.

I see. Red Star in season 2003/04 (I don`t have facts 4 this season) had 12-13.000 average visitors per match. This means some matches watched 2-3.000 people, but darby matces like against Partizan (55.000-60.000) and Voivodina (40.000) watced much more people. Of course, Euro games always fulfill stadium until last seater. I don`t know about other clubs-cuz I don`t care, but I know wherever Red Star and Partizan are playing like guests-there are full stadiums (in Krusevac-10.000, in Podgorica-12.000, in Zemun-9.000, in Novi Sad-10.000, in Kragujevac-25.000, in Nis-20.000 etc.). Our main problems are hooliganism (almost every 1st and 2nd league club has a casual firm), lack of money and the fact that half of our 1st League clubs are from Belgrade. But hope this thing will change soon and the big football centers from Serbia will be back on the track. Then we`ll have a real competition and rivalry.

Galatasaray-Fan, the labor difference can't be 25 million Euro! Think logic! I mean, one of the building(i cant remember what) for the Olympic Park in Greece built by one of the Turkish construction company so they would do the same thing.

Average Serbian salary is 200 eur per month. Our economics suck. We`re lucky to be alive after all we`ve been through.

But goods prices must be lower too in Serbia. In Greece products are too expensive. Most Greeks are buying Chinese products now - many of them come illegal to Greece.

No u`re wrong. Prices in Serbia are unapropriately high so it`s very hard to live. Proportionaly, Belgrade is one of the most expensive cities in Europe. It`s a bare survival. We also have chinese problem-there are almost 100.000 chinese only in Belgrade. Shame is that Serbs because of low economic power are forced to buy chinese sht.

..the whole world is buying Chinese goods because they are so cheap to make with low labour costs...but in Australia the goods are tested...unlike inother places where people are dieing of electric shocks because of faulty goods... :annoyed:

For ex. one chinese umbrella costs 1,5 EUR. I wonder how much that worker who made that product is paid? And don`t forget distance: China-Serbia about 10.000 km. Of course, we have hypermarkets and fashion stores in Serbia, but 80% of people can`t afford those goods.

They say European Union is going to do actions about this... Time will show. In Greece probably the checks of products entering the country must be more strict and Chinese products will be taxed high. But I hope the Chinese products people buy more will be the reason for Greek industries to low their prices.
