It has got to be between Casillas and Ronaldo. Guti and Solari hae been there as well and Gravesen was a very important addition.

However the real best player this season was Luxemburgo.

I put Zidane he was everywhere this year though I did want to put Casillas he saved the team so many times this year.

it would say samuel who has filled the gap in defense and has becomes madrid new enforcer in defense

RonaldoDo8, how come you didn't vote for Ronaldo?

Wellcome back.

To me Samuel was a disappointment. Not bad, but I was expecting much more of him.

Wellcome back.

Well as I said that the best player award should be shared by Casillas and Ronaldo, but the reason why all the team started to win games is because of Luxemburgo.

However I would say that Ronaldo has been the best player in the last couple of game when the pressure was at its highest. There was no Samuel, no Zidane, no Owen, no Raul etc. None of these guys showed themselves in the last 5 or 6 games. It was only Ronaldo and Casillas and because I like Ronaldo better I can say that Ronaldo is the best player of the season.

Even when RonaldoD08 says good when talks about Luxa, the best player for me is Casillas.

Both Casillas and Ronaldo have been the whole team in many matches, but Ronaldo was out of shape a good time of the season, so he just scored 20 goals. Instead, Casillas has been excelent the 9 months and has saved more than 20 goals (many many more) against Real.

You cannot compare how many goals a striker has scored to how many goals a goal keeper has saved. Why not compare the number of goals that casillas hasn't saved to the numbr of goals Ronaldo has scored. Casillas is -31 and Ronaldo is +20....

You can compare it if you sum how many times has Ronaldo shot to goal, and how many times has been Casillas shot.

You can compare it if you sum how many times has Ronaldo shot to goal, and how many times has been Casillas shot.

That could be a better comparison, but you have to consider the defense and midfield as well. Is Casillas really better than last year (54 goals conceded) and is Ronaldo really worse than last year (24 goals scored) or is it just the fact that our defense this year has Samuel and Gravesen and our midfield has literally sucked.

I read in As yesterday, Casillas has been shot 430 times, only in this season! Samuel is a fool and Gravesen can't do nothing in a free kick.

So what happened? Was Casillas that bad last year?

BTW 430 is a little bit way too high...
Maybe you have misread that to be the number of shots cause if that is true it means out opponents have had an average of 12 shots on goal per game. That's pretty high even for Brasil....

Ronaldo, I've been wantching Real the whole season, and the shots can be easily 430. Remember the first three months, and how has the team won the last games (a goal in 80' and that's all, except the 1-5)

RonaldoD08

This year Ronaldo has scored 20 goals and has given 8 assist in 2742 minutes. Therefore he has been involved in 28 goals in La Liga.

In total this season Ronaldo has scored 23 goals and has given 9 assists in 3542 minutes. Therefore he has been involved in 32 goals.

The next player with most goals involved in for the entire La Liga is Eto'o.

If you consider it in more detail you cannot say that Ronaldo has had a bad season this year. He has been the cause for 28 goals directly and has won 4 penalties. Therefore making it 32 goals in La Liga.

I know he should have scored all of those by himself and then add the assists and penalties to go up to 46 goals...:silly:

It is true that both have been very good, the best of this season. I voted for Casillas becuase he has been more consistent. That doesn't mean he is better than Ronaldo.
I am Ronaldo fan but I think that Casillas has contributed more.

I think Ronaldo and Casillas are the best performer in this season . then , folowed by Zidane . Yes like Ronaldo , Zidane has very below par performance in several matches , but he was the best behind those two . Becks had been poor except after Lux's arrival . For Owen , he scored many goals , but he played below average . I think he need to improve his one on one skill and ball control skill so that he can adapt better to Spanish football . Without improving these two , he cant become top footballer in the world and his decision to come here was wrong . samuel doesnt play as expected but he covers many holes in defence . Gravensen , on the other hand , had been excellent in every games . Raul only played superbly in 4 or 5 matches . Other than that , whenever he played , the team played like playing with 10 players , his contribution in those matches are nearly zero .

The geezers to be blamed for this year's failure are :
1)Of course , Perez .
2)The first coach in this season who resigned just after 4 matches . He resigned when during many conflicts , and people blaming real Madrid . He is a coward .

He's worldclass but I still don't think he has settled down as well as many people would have liked.

My vote goes to Casillas, he's the only one who managed to stay in the same level all the season -in a great level btw.

Besides him, Figo had a great performances on the mid of the season, he was the only one (apart from Casillas of course) who was playing great, all the others were doing crappy. And lately, Ronaldo was performing the way he's used to, no further words about that.

So, best of the month Ronaldo and best of the year Casillas. Gravesen was also great, but you can't expect a single player to modify the system of a whole team. Becks had a great season as well -compared to the last one. Raul had signs of returning to his old form but at the end his battery ran out. Zizou had one of the worst campaigns of his career and R.Carlos was as usual, it's only that his position is not so critical as others.

About Samuel, he's lacking a proper partner. Helguera was good at the beggining but towards the end he became in another "Pavon"......I think the same thing happens with Gravessen in the midfield, only those 2 are defensively strong, we need at least one more.

hmm i would like to say Ronaldo...........but you cant take Ronaldo's worst season and say he was the best player for Real madrid, no way. I have to say casillas was the best player, no doubt. Without him Real woudnt have been second to Bacra, Simple as that

true, but i think hes played better this season then he ever did in Man Utd. i hate beckham so to say this is just wierd but i thought he was one of the best

Leon of Silvren

He was one of the best just because the others underperformed as well, because of course Becks had better seasons in Man U.....much better ones.

But I'm still optimistic about him, at least he's playing in his natural position now and he seems to be more comfortable there......

i think beckham played pretty well, and it is time for people to stop critising players and putting pressure on them
