Reasons i hate living in the US

2. American football completely sucks and thats basically the sport you have to play to get a scholarship.
3. There is never any football games on unless you have gol tv and them channels which i dont.

5. If your not rich youll probably never get to see a good international game other than a US Womens or Mens game or go to the world cup.
6. The Police here are terrible.
7. Our varsity team is one of the worst teams in its section.
8. Im on that varsity team.
9. There are hardly any football fans in this country, let alone state.
10. We never play for fun its always were playing for a club, not just getting together friends and taking over the practice fields and nets.

Well its good to know that someone is up at this time of night. Nearly 1.00 am in Australia, can't sleep way too hot tonight.

Anyway I'm sorry to hear that football (I don't use the word soccer, because that is what codes that use HANDS call football) in America is treated with such disrespect. Especially when the U.S got to the world cup unlike Australia.

But the situation is pretty much the same in Australia. The Australian rules, and Rugby League fanatics think that football is played by girls, and migrants from 'strange' countries.

Anyway tell your friends that you can start wining games and make freinds at the same time. You probably need to surf the web and check out football tactics. Even tell your friends that your team must have defensive, midfield, and strikers tactics. A bit like grid iron.

lastly I would just like to say this, I know of no other game in the world that can allow the individual to bring their own style to a team sport. Yet all of those individuals gel into a team. Football has the hard defenders, the flashy wingers, the unselfish midfielders, the sharp keepers, the paoching strikers etc.

Anyway I wish your varsity team all the best....

One day all those that have doubted football in Australia and the U.S will come to enjoy the beutiful game.

I live outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Over the summer Chealsea and AS Roma had a game at heinz field...by the time i found out it was sold out. hopfully some more games will come i always wanted to go to a packed game.

As for this quote, you say that you are from around pittsburgh. Well I grew up there and when I come home I still catch pickup games either at Carnegie Mellon University or over in schenley park. There is a huge mixed group of americans and international students (mostly south americans) that play every week and have some seriously good matches.

there's more here than you realize. and as for the pick-up games, if you organize one and invite kids from your teams or from wherever, i mean they dont even have to play soccer. But just like get out there, and you'd be surprised by how many people will join you. I have about a 4 hour pick-up game here every sunday afternoon if I don't have a game, and it all started with me and two of my friends doing group juggling...go figure...

I don't live in Pittsburgh any more, but I am positive they are still playing the games. Those guys never stop. When you get your license just aske me and I'll try and find you directions to the fields at schenley park. You will definitely see TONS of people playing soccer there.

i think people are too hard on Bush. I'm not saying he's the greatest, but the only thing he did to first piss off people was talk with an accent. Then people began to call him stupid when in fact he's actually smart. Then in Iraq, we went in because someone needed to do something about Hussein. But nobody else was willing. Well to me, constructive criticism is great and those that criticise America with a purpose to see change definitely should speak their minds because it is good for everyone.

But I have only been on this forum for a fairly short period of time, and I have seen quite a lot of random America bashing with no other point than to put Americans and their country down. I hope you realize, as a European hoping for change, that my commments are not directed towards you. Only towards those who wish to continually make hateful and nonproductive comments.

Ummm, actually it's probably easier to get into college on a soccer scholarship than it is with a football scholarship. There is way too much competition for football players; same with baseball.
I know a few people - good players that have gone to college on soccer scholarships.

I live in a hour i dont get free lunches infact im pretty self sufficient i pay for everything for yourself but i guess it makes it easier on me considering i dont have bill besides the internet. My dad gets food on the table and all and still works he just switched to a new job thats why he makes so little. But where i live a dollar can go a pretty long way. Like most places its like what 300k for a half decent house? Here you can get a custom made one for under 200k i guess property here isnt worth much considering i live in the suburbs of pittsburghs suburbs haha.

The one field we used to play on was at Carnegie mellon and that is right on fifth ave in oakland where their football stadium is.

Same here when i lived in the city in chicago at least i had some europian friends to play soccer with but now i moved to the suberbs where no1 plays anything. PPl are too lazy to get out. My school's soccer team only puts americans to the varsity team only no1 else and im on the JV and our JV beats varsity everytime we play kinda sad.

How can you hate basketball? Do you know how hard it is to put the ball in the hole? And I think Hockey is more physical than Football because the hitting is more constant.
