Hehe! That's why I'm hoping... ;) I definitely don't think Stuttgart would let Hildebrand go though.
A lot of big names mentioned here, none of whom are likely to be available. For me it has to be one out of: Kameni, Given or Frey. I'd really like to see Shay Given between the sticks from an Irish point of view and i think he's definitely available at the right price.

i also feel fergie will sign a young keeper not mentioned in that list ...
may be someone from italy

I predict a young English player, or possibly an American. Howard has opened the eyes of Sir Alex to what kind of talent the country has.
An Italian striker would've been nice to have.

They need Petr Cech but they got no chance of getting him or Cudicini
so Paul Robinson it is, but doubt they'll get him though

If Howard is talented, why bench him for so many matches and having a discussion abt Man Utd buying a new goalie? LOL.. Howard will follow dudek footstep.Despite performing great initially, after series of blunder, they nvr recover their form.

Howard will improve, and if not, we should try to get P. Robinson.

Good news,Hildebrand would be leaving Stuttgart on a free transfer at the end of the season. From what i read,Stuttgart offered a contract extension. It was not the matter of the length of contract nor the money issue (Stuttgart was ready to triple his salary) ,but Timo couldn't agree with the terms of the release clause. So i guess,he'll end up joining either man u,arsenal or possbily AC milan ( long term replacement for dida ? )

Woh! That's good news! If he signs for Man U, that would be excellent. :) That would leave Howard in the benches though.

CSKA Moskva keeper Akinfeev..hes only 18 and most certainly one for the future...he made his russian under 21 debut when he was only 15..hes a machine..buy him and have him compete with howard as he will only be cheap then buy some other unknown keeper from either italy or spain with a good reputation

Glazer“s first signing for the new Primier League season!
The Dutch international Edwin Van Der Sar has signed a two-year-deal with Manchester United!

Kiraly would be Man utd's best bet, reasonably cheap in comparison.
You have to remember, Man Utd's takeover is costing them 125K per week,so an affordable GK with the right criteria is critical.
Cech wont leave chelsea, Dida might leave AC milan after the incident with the flare..............you dont get that sort of violence in the premier leagues, the rivalries dont seem that intense.
Paul Robinson is a definite chance, but i think Kiraly might get the nod. :)

I heard the news (real news, not a fake ones' from fake web-site :D ) Tht manchester interesting with Shacktar donetsk's (ukraine champion this year) Keeper Yan Latvushka. This is awesome keeper trust me guys. But still Showkovskiy is better but Latvushka is younger so in years he will get some cool moves. B U T... Latvushka declined this invetion. He wants to stay in Shacktar little bid longer.
I voted for "other". I think locomotive moscow goal keepr Ovchinikov will be great for manchester. Ovchinikov is already in 95% ready to play in cool europen club.

i was wondering my self y he was england keeper but i dont think hes that bad
Becks
08-16-2005, 02:59 AM
He isn't that bad, but he is aging...
He also allowed the goal that gave him so much hate. The ball was passed back to him very slow on pace.... and he went to stop it with his foot, but let it roll under him.

There's a young keeper at Hearts called Craig Gordon who is making quite a name for himself both on a domestic and international level, and I think he's only 20/21.
He would be my choice.

VDS has been brilliant ever since he arrived..
Tim as i said in an earlier thread that he needs to show a high standard of consistency or else he wouldn't be in Sir Alex's plan.
I actually think that Paul Robinson would make a tremendous buy for us. i was not always convinced abt his ability but time and time again he has proven me wrong...
I'm really looking forward to next year...

Those 3 letters basicaly summed up that sentence.
Anyways, Given is the most wise choice for ManUtd, first of all because he isn't coming from a big club which would create overpricing, and also that he would start fresh in a big club like ManUtd getting used to the environment etc...
But seriously you guys gotta stop predicting players like Casillas, Cech etc... from coming to ManUtd, you have to remember you're not the richest club in the world anymore.;)

Jaskelainen, Schwarzer, and maybe Dudek ???
Becks
01-18-2006, 05:35 AM
Dudek would not move to a rival.
Raul, Madrid is not that far ahead of United as far as money. Casillas was in talks with United at one time.

Man Utd can afford any player they want but money means nothing. Look at Real...the only exception is Chelsea.

Dudek would not move to a rival.
Raul, Madrid is not that far ahead of United as far as money. Casillas was in talks with United at one time.
Dudek is not happy at Liverpool and wants out because he isnt getting enough game time.
If Man Utd made him an offer, Dudek wouldnt give it a second thought and i am sure he wouldnt care who he goes to, his loyalty to Liverpool is shattered and non existant now.
There are some players at Liverpool who were bought under Houllier, and they arent getting the appropriate game time..............Dudek is one, Cisse is the other, under Benitez, its a totally different scenario and these 2 players dont fit into his plans.
With this understanding i can see Dudek going to a rival team if the offer was made to him.
penalty_20
01-24-2006, 08:17 AM
I think dudek would be nice. Although VDS is doing great at the moment.
