Wow, the only result there I was probably living at the same time was when Luftetari tore PAOK to shreds 1-0.

No wait, I was born 14 months after.

And I doubt any of the Greek clubs used they're first teams in those tournaments, as they were mostly busy competing in the CL and UEFA.

Did Albania even have UEFA spots back then?

Albania beat Russia 3-1 eh? Funny, Russia beat us 2-1. So did Albania, however they lost to Denmark 0-2, but we beat Denmark 2-1. Then again, Albania did lose to Ukraine, who we tied 1-1. Isn't Football a funny sport?!

Ok then, we'll go on with the purpose of why was this thread oppened.

The great German NT, winner of 3 World Cups and 3 European Cups, didn't play the final phases of 2 World Cups (1930, 1950) and the final phases of 3 European Cups (1960, 1964, 1968). They didn't want themselves to participate in the two World Cups and in the first two European Cups, but they were eliminated by Albania for the final phase of 1968. This made Albania the first and only team to eliminate Germany from the final phase of a major competition, because of the draw between them in the last match of the group.
