Professionalism ACL from 2006 season?
AFC Champions League aims for more professionalism (http://www.the-afc.com/english/media/default.asp?mnaction=news&action=details&newsID=1899)
The AFC supremo also hinted that in the near future, the AFC Champions League will only be opened to clubs from the professional leagues. Other clubs will continue to play in the AFC Cup – a competition for clubs who are still developing, in terms of infrastructure, organization and economics.
According to Hammam's theary:

4 South East Asian Countries: Malaysia, Singapore,Vietnam,Indonesia
2 Middile and South Asian Countries: Uzebekstan,India
5 Weat Asian Countries: Saudi Arabia,Iran,Qatar,Bahrain,U.A.E

Not totally similar compare with European club cups, Asian used to have three Continental Club Cups, Asian club Champions Cup for League Champions, Asian Cup winners cup for Cup winners and the Asian Super Cup for the Champions of the ACC and ACWC,but there isn't a Cup like UEFA Cup,
After Hammam became AFC's boss he annonced a plan called Viaion Asia and made some changes to the club Competitions, today Asia have three continental club Competitions But only ACL is played between teams from Asian's important Leagues
Champions' League competition restricted to countries 14 considered 'mature' in the so-called 'Vision Asia' paper of AFC President Mohamed Bin Hammam. The so-called 14 'developing' countries have their clubs relegated to the AFC Cup, while the clubs from the 17 'emerging' countries will have to play in the President Cup
