Yeah man that blows. I just started gettin interested in hockey too... I went to my first (college) hockey game this year and thought it was AWESOME! I couldn't wait to watch the NHL on tv after the lockout... guess I'll have to wait a little longer.

I think that's ridiculous. Players who make millions rather do nothing than play sport they should love if they don't get payed huge amounts of money. I've understood that the people who care the most about their million salaries are those 'superstars' who even don't have much seasons left in their careers. That really sucks for those younger players who are now wasting best playing times of their lives. I think they would be happy with much smaller salaries if they just could play. I might be wrong though.
And how many NHL teams will go down when they lose their incomes for atlease one season.

Well this is good for European leagues. For example the Finnish SM-league was very high class before this and now it's even tougher when teams got Finnish and foreign NHL reinforcements.

ya but why can they play in europe for little salaries?

hmmm...I don't know actually why they are not claiming huge salaries when they play here. Maybe they just want to play. They do get payed big money but teams here just can't pay that much.
I think this is good for also the World Championships this year. No player will be in NHL so there will be superstars in national teams.
