This year, is doing great. Undefeated so far, and this year (since we got a new coach) we're ALL in-shape and can run the hour and a half without even breathing a hard breath. And he's also letting us work on our "And 1" skills during the game so not only do we look good, but we make THEM look bad.

My high School team had 4 kids who play for the best club in the state, and 3 kids who played for state champion clubs. Also, a goalie who plays on a well respected club. We did bad because no one played together. We had more individual skill than any other team we came up agenst, but we didn't work together with it. We played good at practices, but on the game days, kids would hold the ball too much, or argue, it was a disaster.

That can happen in high school soccer. Our team has many club players including myself. When we get on the pitch a lot of them think the fact they play for club means they can dribble and be the hero but of course it never works. BTW we came 3rd in our state knockout tournament :)

yeah, like some games, we just played sensational, like we would destroy the otehr teams, but others were embarassing. Twards the end of the season, we started to come together, but it was too late at that point.

Our coach is a football coach and has never done soccer before, but he's real cool, and like giving a new meaning to soccer, like the system he has us to run. Like all of our positions are transformed into numbers (odd being left-side of the field, and even being the right side).

And he's got us running plays (like for football) that acually WORK, some of them work. But its pretty cool.

You should make your ball control really really good, work on trappign the ball when it's moving at you fast, also, work on good touch with juggling. The most important skill in soccer at this age is being able to dribble the ball whaile keeping yoru head up. Just run aroundw itht he ball a lot, once you geta great touch on the ball, you can do what ever you want.

For dribbling, learn the basics, step overs, cuts, stuff like that, try to keep your head up when training in dribbling. When I was learning how to dribble, I'd pretend that there was a defender infront of me (sounds dumb) but it workes cause I visualized a real defender, and I always attacked his supporting foot's side. After running aroudnw ith a ball at yoru feet for a while, you will be able to dribble good, try running in and out of cones, and dribling around small areas.

For your shot just practice for a long time, sometimes I'll go out and just shoot the ball for hours. there's not much training you can do, just start out shooting slowly, but accurate, then gradually pick up the speed and power. Work on all the different shots, Drives, bends, chips.

For touch just run with a ball at your feet, or juggle.

Control will bring your kick back into play. Start by throwing the ball, or kciking it to the kick back, and traping it with your chest, or feet, just work on controling a difficult ball. Eventually increase the speed of these, and try to chest it down, then take off with the ball. there are many drills you can do, just be creative.

Wow, all of your highschools sound like their extremely good. Heh, i wish our team was that good. Our team is not very good, although there are many skilled players on it. I heard the team got better though since there are a lot of freshman coming in (including me). Supposedely we are fighting for 3rd or 4th in our district out of 6.
