I dont think iran could compete with australia. Rather than just relying on the ebbs and flows of one person, Karimi, to trigger a team Australia has an all-round brilliance all around the park. From Viduka, Vieri and Aloisi up front, to Bresciano, Kewell, Emerton and Grella in the midfield and Moore, Neill and Kisnorbo in the back. Don't Forget the ever reliable Schwarzer in goals. All are currently playing overseas at big clubs as well. Iran should think twice before thinking that Australia would go down again.

Wheres the Knox Superleague?

Anyway welcome to the forums

Most of their players are playing in the Big leagues...

They are good...!!

I think Iran is better... in Iran if they played at home it would be 2-1 and if in Australia where they played it would prolly be 1-1... Australia def deserves to be in the world cup... Kewell and Viduka are two awesome players.

I think if Australia was to join Asia it would make things more interesting. In my opinion they are on the same level of Iran, Japan and Korea. They would turn into a regional power in no time. I actually think they wanted to merge OFC and AFC together but the AFC didn't agree or was that FIFA? because there would have been too many countries that way and Asia has more than enough as it is. Ahh well it would have been something if that was to happen :( good luck to Australia and hopefully this time around you'll make it.

It would be tough for current Asian teams to make it to WC if Austrailia

joins AFC...!!

RonaldoD08
02-19-2005, 10:22 PM
there are a lot of teams from other parts of the world who would deserve to go to the wc before all the asian teams.
some asian teams just mess up with the wc. like arabia for example. they go to the wc and get kicked by germany 8-0 and everybody thinks germany is great and klose scores 3 goals.
same thing with muller. he scored 4 goals against arabia out of the 10 goals he scored in one wc. same thing with just fontaine. he scored 4 goals against some asian team and then he scored 13 in total socring another 3 against some other sucking team. if it wasn't for some teams from asia and north america the likes of fontaine, muller and klose wouldn't have been known by anyone...

RonaldoD08
02-19-2005, 10:22 PM
I would prefer an international draw with mixed groups for wc qualifiers.

play korea against netherland in a qualifier group and see what happens...

Seeing how Dutch play now.. They have no hope...

Well.. but I think they will still beat KOrea..!!

RonaldoD08
02-20-2005, 02:18 AM
that's why I think it is unfair for arabia to go to the world cup and netherland not to go. not that I have anything against arabia but their teams is not good. I could say the same thing about china and a lot of others.

Hahahaha, no discipline?? Is this a joke? Where do you come from? Have you ever seen Australia play? Did you watch Australia crush England 3-1? Have you seen them compete against some of the worlds best teams and come out with results? Schoolyard boys? You obviously have no knowledge of soccer or the Australian NT.

No, good luck to Iran in attempting to get somewhere in a world cup, we will definatly see you at Germany :D

Iranians better than Kewell, Viduka, Bresciano, Cahill and Grella??? Not a chance. The aussies are better because they feature in many more first class teams around the world: Parma, Livepool, Everton, Middlesborough and Man City to name a few. To try and compare Australias team to the one that played off against Iran eight years ago is pathetic. Australia has improved in leaps and bounds over the past 3 or 4 years and could compete against any team on the world stage effectively.

I respect Iran greatly and wish them luck in the future however i would consider it very unwise to say that Iran is better

Its funny to see you say "You'll be sad when Iran beats Australia again" seeing as though we have no matches against each other scheduled in the near future...maybe you care to explain

Secondly its hard to have a representative when your country's two best players Kewell and Viduka are both out with injury...it was only a charity match aswell so nothing really to be proud of

Thirdly there happen to no Iranians at all in the English Premierleague on eof the best in the world....its great you can list iranian players that have been rumoured with moves to prominent european club but the fact is that there are hardly any playing currently in comparison to Australians.

BTW what club is Karimi currently playing for   Al Ahli??? This is nothing compared to likes of Kewell, Viduka and Bresciano who have been playing top league football seen they were 18, 19 years old in teams like, Leeds Utd, Empoli, Celtic and Parma. Karimi is 26 and still finds himself in the UAE league.

Most of what i hear is rumours here and rumours there, but until something actually happens i have to say Iran is starting to lag behind Aust in a big way.

When someone from Iran eventually transfers to a big club who you calll "promising" or "one of the most exciting youngsters in the world" be sure to tell me.

By the way bad luck when you lost against Jordan and Kuwait... :silly: :silly

All ive seen are two or three decent names at good clubs, the rest are rumours or made up, or bit players that most have never heard of, why state players that are playing in small europeans leagues, Serie B or in reserve teams...all this proves is that the depth of Iraninas oversea is weak. Half of the ones you stated us usual are just silly rumours.

Come back with useful information when ever you feel like it...

2-1 isnt really slaughter :) , but alright so we could keep repeating these same points but that would pointless. I try and bring something new up here, would you agree that the depth of soccer in Australia is greater than in Iran? What i mean is local soccer stronger as well the numbers of Australians currently playing around the world.

Iran's head-to-head record (http://federaciones.7host.com/historial.aspx?vs1=IRN&vs2=AUS) against Australia is: 3 wins, 2 losses, 2 ties

Iran deprived Australia of going to the world cup twice in 1978 and 1998.

WHAT are you sayiiinnggg :annoyed: soccer is irans national sport..there is stadiums or fields all over the places..! listend here ..!! in Iran we are Deffinatly producing some good world talents later in the future..!!

iranians are playing soccer thinking soccer living soccer..!!

australia isnt that much in soccer.!! and you have to admit it man.!!

listen here..!! our players are know to be VERY talented and without no doubt the most talented in asia and even better then most of the other countrys..!! just pooping up players..!! and i can metion soo many players for you that play in europe that is iranian maybe over 100 manybe more..!!

:) German Bundesliga is maybe the BEST europen league that really really likes iranian players..!! we have alot there..!!

we are starting to send players to Spain and Italy.!! our iranian league is develouping and without no doubt soon we will be a MUCH better league..!!

i know alot of investments is going on in austrlian soccer.!! BUT you can NEVER beat iranians morale and love to soccer.!! NEVER EVER..!!

 first of all what makes a country good in soccer and developupment is a quali***ation to world cup 2006.!! if you dont make it then SORRY.!! iran will make its 3rd world cup if we qualify

Go0000ooo Iran..!!

The only way to say which team is better at the moment is FIFA ranking (http://www.fifa.com/en/mens/statistics/index/0,2548,All-Feb-2005,00.html) :
Iran is ranked 20th, Australia is ranked 58th :)

karimi_nr I think you have made your points a numerous times. No need to keep repeating the same stuff "amoo" :p so I think it is time to say good bye to your "first thread" and move on ;)

P.S Iran and Australia are pretty equal @ the moment but I personally give the edge to Iran because they play more matches that the aussies and therefore gain more experience.
