I've been playing soccer almost all of my life. I quit 2 years ago and I've been playing off and on ever since. Of all the years of playing soccer i focused on shooting, passing, and dribbling. Then i suddenly realized that juggling is a vital part of this game. And then i felt really stupid for not even noticing. I am absolutley horrible at juggling. Can anyone help? :(
get a minni ball
Also, make sure you're keeping the ball low, liek below your waist line, and you're keeping it infront of you. Something I did to help me get a good touch on the ball when juggling was, I'd drop the ball to my foot, and juggle it liek once then let it hit the ground, then hit it again, and let it hit the ground, and then dot hat for a while, so I got a feel for touching the ball right. eventually I'd do 5 before letting it bounce once, once I was to that point I'd do 2 with my left, then let it drop, then 2 with my right, let it drop. After that I did 5 with my left, drop, 5 with my right. AFTER THAT 10 using both my right and left, then drop. You get the idea? It helped me a lot a lot.
It takes time, but if you stick with it, it's really easy when you gett he hang of it.

hmm well i dont really see the point of getting a mini ball and practicing when i cant even really juggle with a normal sized ball. I like the idea of juggling and letting it bounce, Ill try it out and tell u how it goes
Yeah, a minni ball isn't what you're htinking though, it's not liek an advanced jugglers ball, it's good for anyone to use, just because a larger ball will feel so much bigger once you pick it up. If you use one, you'd be impressed with the difference :ronaldo:

I bought a no name brand for 6 american dollers, and then I got a Nike Aerow for 10 dollers. So they are pretty cheep. They should have them at decent prices at your local sporting goods store, or soccer shop.
You don't even really need a mini ball (although I don't doubt their benefits). Just get a size 5 and practice. You may only be able to do 10 or so initially, but if you PRACTICE, you'll get much better in no time.

O yea, another question. When your juggling, your supposed to lock your foot right?; so your foot looks like a "L".
Umm, if you're gonna do really really low juggles, then locking your knee is what you'd do, but for normal, above the knee - waist high juggles, you want to sort of snap your leg out, also you might want to flick your ankle so you put a little back spin on the ball.

"juggling" is not nearly as important as you may think. In fact it can lead to a lot of bad habits. Your placing way too much value on juggling.

Well first of all, I'm not "placing way too much value" into juggling....I started this thread, therefore i ask as many questions as i can to actually fix the problem....
2nd, what kind of bad habits can it lead to....? Hogging? i dont think it would lead to any bad habits.
3rd, it is important...for ball controlling reasons...
Yeah, I wouldn't worry about forming bad habbits by using mini balls, they improve yoru foots coordination a lot, and you work on controling something that if you touch hard will go flying. So when you pick up a big ball, it's a lot easier to get a nice controlable touch on the ball. I could only do 150 juggles liek 3 weeks ago, and lately I've been using a mini ball, and I got 350 yesterday with a big ball, so it's helpign a lot. :p

Sorry, I did not me to upset you. Nor did I mean it as any criticism. Likewise I never said using a mini ball would lead to bad habits or mention "hogging" Anyway I did not mean any harm. Sorry.
I think what he's saying is he's not worrying about improving his overall soccer skill, he just wants to improve his juggling. That's why juggling is the only thing he asked about in the thread :smoking:

Juggling could provide benefits as you can never predict a match situation. Sometime, you may need it.

well juggling isnt really a very goood aspect to focus on in soccer my opinion
i know many players who can do over 400 juggles with a big ball and heve ball control but are mot ver affective in a game i think knowing the sport vision things like that are
but hey thats just my opoinion
hmmm, i see where your coming from. I'm not really sure, but I think your talking about juggling as more of a hobby. If thats not the issue, than i strongly disagree with your comment. (not trying to be rude) Juggling can be very vital in a match. But I also agree that a strong vision of the game is important too.

i definitly agree. hey if you really want to improve your touch, juggling, and cordination, i have something better than mini balls. it's brazilian balls. they're as big as a size 3, but weigh as much as a 5. they work better than anything, you can just juggle with them, freestyle, drills, or even play. it really helps trust me just go to www.brasilianfutebol.com and they're only like 10 bucks. hope this helps.

well, i was going to go out to buy a mini-ball but i guess ill check this out first...
I'd just go with a mini ball if I were you. One of the reasons for training with a miniball is to get a lighter touch on a bigg ball. If you have a ball that weighs the same, you loose that benefit.
