does the leg press & leg extension improve shooting power?
Yes, They will both give you a power increse shot, also try doing squats. Make sure when you weight train you always stretch your legs thoroughly, a lot of people I know have pulled or torn their quads as a result of playing after weight training because of lack of stretching. VERY IMPORTANT!

Stick with bodyweight exercises, hindu squats, one legged squats and hills. You will get much more functional strength with out worrying about a loss of flexibility.

I read something about this, there's two things that affect the shots, one is technique and the other strength, as for strength just work in the gym with weights, as for the technique, what I remember is a)the support foot must be in horizontally aligned to the ball, b)the kicking leg's knee must be vertically aligned to the ball and c)hit the ball solidly focusing on hitting hit right in the middle (of course this varies if you wanna bend the ball or make a chip or a low shot)
Hope it helped! ;)

The more you kick the ball the stronger your kick will be. If you want to work on your kicking power, I'd do leg exercises, and practice kicking within a variation of techniques.
