View Full Version : Point out to using weaker foot

recently i have been using loads of my left foot which is my weaker foot. n not to boast but my left foot has become a second nature kind of thing. i wud like to share it wif u guys.. n gals.

1)Practice - practice makes perfect. i suggest everytime u start to play or just have a kickabout, the first thing you would do it prob use your weaker foot to roll the ball out of the store. but instead remind yourself to use your left foot to do that. a good drill to improve dribbling with your weaker foot is to use the palm of your weaker foot to roll it backwards, do it continously it rolling it back so that u are hopping with your stronger foot.


2)Stronger foot - eventhough u tink yes its my stronger foot so standing on the ground with tat foot is peanuts, but noo its not. your stronger foot may be strong however it is not coordinated to stand on the ground (when dribblin or shooting) so it feels awkward when u dribble or shoot, most of the time when dribbling with your weaker foot u slip up, n its bcos of your stronger standing foot that is not coordinated to hop or move in that direction. again there is not much you can do unless u practice n do that exercise above where u keep rollin the ball backwards. or wat u cando is hop on your stronger foot.


3)When using weights - do 10 more times with your weaker foot than your stronger foot. ppl might tink yes im doin weights on my weaker foot, but relly if u want to get the same level as your other foot you shud be doing more weights on yur weaker foot


4)Practice kicking without the ball - its about the techinque you want before you see strong accurate shots or passes. so remember to follow through, and practice shootin or passing like u wud without the ball. follow your technique you use wit your stronger foot. and apply tat technique to your weaker foot n doo it slowly so your mind remembers the technique n very soon u dunt have to tink bout the technique. tis is the most important ting out of all the points.


5)Confidence - during training or messing about, use your weaker foot all the time. this is the time to test out your technique you had been practicing earlier. pass it against the wall. smash the ball. curl it n lob it. concentrate on the place you want the ball to go. keep your eye on it before u kick it. then imagine the place in your head. then look at the ball and use the technique. keep doing tis.


6)one of the tings to keep in mind when trying to curl it or lob it is to hit the ball at the bottom using your big toe nail n the ending shud be with a follow through. kinda like scrape the ground n follow through.



at least this is how i managed training myself. not sure bout u guys
