Can you play equally well with both legs/feet?
When I played actively, I was able to control and shoot the ball just as well with either foot. I am a righty, but trained my left to be jsut as good.

Actually, I feel I have more precision with my left than I do with my right. I think it has to do with concentrating more with my left; as opposed to just shooting naturally, with out much effort, with my right.

For the life of me, I can't figure out how "professional" soccer players aren't able to play with both legs equally. I mean, they're professionals, it's what they get paid to do. Not all though, but a great majority do only have one dominant foot.

Yes, that is absolutely true. They are professional athletes that get paid thousands of dollars to do what they do, and yet they still can't use both of their feet equally...

I am not as good with my left as I am with my right but I have been working on it and am getting a lot better. During club practice I pretty much use both equally, but during high school practice and when I'm just playing by myself I usually like to try and use my left more dominantly. (During high school season and when I'm by myself I don't really care if I brick a couple of the shots because my teammates know I can deliver in games.) I definetly can't juggle as well with my left consistently but it doesn't really matter because when I juggle I don't focus on one foot I always go back and forth from left to right and try not to get two in a row on either foot. It helps a lot.

For the longest time, I never payed attention to my left foot at all, Never used it, and it only made things worse for me because as I went on, I began to depend on my right, more and more. Once I hit highschool, and came agenst a lot of lefty defenders, I realized I had to learn how to use my left because going around them, like I normally do (cutting to my right) Was much tougher on someone whos left was dominant. It took me about 2 months of pretty tough work to get better with my left, and I still work on it today. When I was training to use my left, I'd make a schedule, and on certain days I'd work with only my left foot, like on a monday practice, I'd only use my left, and then again of wednesday, and more than likely friday. It was difficult at first, but when you do every drill at practice using your left, as a dominant righty would, you get better very fast. I found it was all just a problem of becoming coordinated with my left foot, then the second problem being to get it as strong and fast as my right. All in all when you can instinctively use your left foot when you are playing, it makes you twice as good as you were when you only had one of your legs doing all the work.

I'm still better with my right, but like I said I still work on my left, I guess it's more important to develope your left foot's touch at an early age. I dind't play on any serious teams growing up, so I never took the time to learn it.

Great posts you two!

I think all soccer players should make a concientious effort to utilize both of their weapons!

i had always thought that two footer footballers are betta than one.

when i first started i practiced alot wit my right foot. but now i ractice with my left foot. it is about coordination basically. it is not that u cant play with your left foot, but u must get comfortable with it. that is wat i noticed.

during christmas break n until now i practiced with my left foot so many times, i feel that now my left foot it almost equal to my right. but not quite.

i can dribble with my left, recieve, pass, shoot accurately... not to boast but i can do them relly well
the only thigns i cant do is hit it hard with the laces of the shoe, and hit very high shots. im trying to work on it. i try to follow the technique as how i wud chip a ball with my right foot, but it turns out useless. (help needed on technique for left foot)

coordination is the biggest factor in using yurweaker foot. yur weaker foot doesnt have coordination to control the ball or shoot, and yur stronger standing foot doesnt have the coordination to plant yur foot correctly, belive me yur stronger planting foot has alot to do with yur shots or passing. it is because you arent used to planting your stronger foot on the ground.
