View Full Version : Anyone ever been hurt like this?
Alright, about a month ago, I did something to either my hip, or groin. I'm not sure exactly how I did it, the only thing I remember is coming home from a match, falling asleep, then I woke up, and my right groin area killed. I gave it a few days, thinking it might have just been sore, it didn't feel like it was torn, or pulled, because when I moved it, the pain dind't get any worse, it was a constant, ache sort of. After a few days the pain did die down, but When ever I lifted my knee to my chest, then brought it back down, it almost felt as if my hip was locking up, and I would stand straight, and push my hips out, and I'd feel a pop, or a click on the front my my hip/groin area, and then I could move it fine, untill I brought up my leg again, then I had to pop it again. People have told me many different possabilities for what could be wrong, but I was wondering if any of you have ever had this problem.
I have sort of ruled out going to the doctors because I don't want them to tell me I can't play for an exteded period time. I'll decide weather or not to go pending the results of this thread, I guess.
Another thing, it dosen't hurt unless It pops now, and not all pops are intentional, I just have to be standing still, and lean back, or shift a certain way, and a very painful poping sensation happens. I don't know what to do. :scream:

i had something similar to that. I was playing and a guy slide tackeled me, and somehow managed to make me stretch one of my legs into a awkward position. I walked it off then, but the next day, it was my hip that felt like it was dislocated. But a few hours later, it spread to my whole groin area. it hurt like getting kicked rite in the sweet spot. The next day, it moved up to my lower spine. On teh third day, I went to a doctor, and he looked at it and couldnt figure it out. I went to a sports rehab clinic, and they gave me a few stretches to do, and told me to pop a few painkillers. within 36 hrs, the pain had disappeard, but i still get the feeling of my leg popping out of the socket on teh hip whenever i lift my leg up to high.
Just go see adoctor, but in he meanwhile, rub some m uscle relevant on it although it might be painful...groin :depressed
also check out www.webmd.com
they can sometimes help, just look in the top corner for 'check symptoms'
Alright so you've left it a month and since you're posting here, there obviously isn't that much improvement I take it. As Toke-E-Yo said, go see a doctor or visit a sport rehab clinic. Don't stay with the attitude of I don't wanna goto the doctors because then I won't play for a certain period of time, because if you play on it and screw it up worse (if it's anything bad), you'll be off playing for a VERY long time.
Also, I probably should have said this to begin with. I want to be sure that something is definitly wrong that would require a doctors attention, because I don't have medical insurance, and I'd be paying for any treatment out of my own pocket. That's why I wanna see what you guys (if any) did when you were hurt like me.

I'd go see the doctor.
Your health is much more important than playing soccer. I'm sure you' like to feel in great shape when you're much older, rather than walking around in pain or with a cane, etc.
I guess I should ask... have you been resting it or playing with it injured? Maybe some rest and possibly heat/ice will help it out.
No, I tried playing with it the first 2 weeks it was injured, but I dind't go at it hard, I usualy play mid, but durring the matches I was either keeper, or sweeper, I didn't do basicly any running around, or ball handling at all. I've been off it for 2 games, and I have a game tonight, so that will be 3 weeks.
What I've been doing at home is trying to keep it protected, normally I'll juggle for 45 minutes - an hour per day, I havent evan been doing that, I've been watching FSW and trying to stretch out the hurt area, and I have been icing it. Idk, I think that tomorrow I'm going to set up a doctors appointment, It's better to miss the winters season, than miss spring, or summer :annoyed:
I still want info, if anyone has any! I'd liek to know what they had to do to get through the problem, how long it took, etc.

well it looks like u may have stretched ur leg how ever go see a doctor! cuz it wont heal like a cut wound, it needs to be put back in if its popped out or cheked up. u could be doing more damage to it by not seeing a doctor!

I've had that problem, the doctor said that when i broke my leg, it healed together but left one leg longer than the other, after time, the tendons stretched messing with the joint, causing a pop when i moved it upright. the leg length differential might not be that bad, but it does it anyway. good way to check is to look into the mirror, if you see one side of your hip is lower than the other, than u have the same problem, Insoles should do the trick.
