I'm a girl who freestyle's and I was just wondering how many other girls do and at what level they're at? Like can you do around the worlds, and what kind of stalls and stuff? Also what is your record for juggles?

ur not a girl
I'm a girl and I sometimes freestyle. I've never counted how many juggles I could do. I don't practice a lot on freestyle though. I can do neck stalls and footstalls, knee stalls occasionally and i'm working on a head stall but i'm finding it difficult. I can do around the world (can't really do 2 in a row... and if I do it's a fluke :p) and i'm working on the crossover but everytime I do it I can never get it up really high. I can still juggle off it but it's low so it makes it more difficult to control. So, if anyone has any tips on doing the crossover, go ahead and let me know 'em.

When I do a crossover I normally instead of kicking it up kind of carry it up with my foot. A lot of times it doesn't really go high enough for me if I just hit it with the side of my foot. So either try and hit it more on the instep or try to lift it more than kick it, if that makes any sense at all...

Yeah, it doesn't seem like many girls are into freestyling and all that. I mean, I'd be surprised if any girls on my high school team even knew what it was... I think that it definetly helps your skills, just because your getting touches on the ball, and it also makes it fun!:)

I agree, it's juggling with a twist.... makes it loads more fun. And nobody on my highschool team would know it either, and very few on my club team.

Yeah, same here. And my club team is skilled. I mean, we even have some girls on the U-17 National Team that play for us and they wouldn't know what it is. I just started a little while ago but it is giving me more motivation to keep practicing and practicing because I know that I'm getting better and can see it because I can now do tricks constantly that I couldn't do before. I know it's all gonna pay off when I coach at this soccer camp this year and I pull a few Around the Worlds and neck stalls and just keep freestyling and the kids are like, "Woah, how'd you do that?" haha And I'll just tell them practice, practice, practice.

Just a footstall... if that counts as a trick. If not, then probably a neckstall.

My fiance is a girl, obviously and she is really good at freestyling. She has been playing her entire life, but still...

The only problems I faced with freestyling at all was my balance. I had to improve my balance and everything followed after that, even things you wouldn't imagine to do so. I guess my best advice is that, at first, all the great things you do will seem like mishaps, but learn to look at them like the good revealing itself. Try to remember, as hard as it may be, how that 'fluke' came about and try to 'mess up' again. Whichever skill you learn first is sure to the bearer of more to come. So, it doesn't matter which technique you master first, just keep doing your thing and you'll develop your own style. And that's what freestyling is all about: being creative and learning new things; making your faults seem like greatness. Keep it fun.
btw, I'm the fiancee mentioned above... :silly:

i dunno if anyone has noticed, but i think girls r rougher than guys when it comes soccer. me and a couple of friends always get together to play, and theres usually 2 or 3 girls who play with us, and they r always so vicious everytime someone gets the ball, that person always gets double teamd, and in the end, he is usually on the ground holding some part of his body in pain. and now im really scared to play with girls.

It sounds like you had a few bad experiences! :) Nobody has ever said that to me before, and those I play with has never told me that. But it could very well be true for some girls. Double teaming is a tendency that I beleive girls have, and some are pretty tough, but for the most part, I don't believe that all girls are rough players. Not enough to be scared for ;)

It's certainly possible that they feel they have to prove they are equal to you. Historically women have always been in a more subservient role, and while that isn't the case now in many areas I think sometimes girls play more agressive to remind you they aren't inferior to guys, albeit they usually are physically.
