Zoff demands new faces Thursday 27 January, 2005
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dino Zoff has called for reinforcements after he lost his first game in charge of Fiorentina last night.
The Viola were defeated 1-0 by Roma, in their Coppa Italia quarter final first leg tie, and the Coach wants some new personnel.
"The club need to take some steps because this squad needs completing," said the Italian legend.
Despite the loss, the former Juventus and Italian national boss was relatively pleased with parts of the performance.
"I saw signs of improvement, especially in the second half when the team started to play some good football," he added.
"It wasn’t easy in the beginning because Roma are a team that do cause their opponents problems."
Zoff also brought a smile to many onlookers when he went to the wrong bench before the start of the game.
"I was affected by the emotion of returning after such a long time away," he explained.
Zoff, sacked in his last job by Lazio in September 2001, was appointed on Monday to replace the axed Sergio Buso.
