Barcelona are considering recalling Villarreal midfielder Juan Roman Riquelme at the end of the season.

The Argentine has been in dazzling form this season, but his two-year loan deal with Villarreal expires in June.

Barca chiefs are weighing up bringing Riquelme back to the Nou Camp before offering him in a swap for Deportivo La Coruna striker Alberto Luque.

Luque has been a long-term target for Barca president Joan Laporta, but Depor have always managed to resist his approaches.

But with Depor president Augusto Caesar Lendoiro struggling to bring a quality playmaker to the Riazor, Laporta is hoping the opportunity of landing Riquelme will be enough to land Luque in exchange

I think that it would be better if we sell Riquelme. Although this deal is not too bad, I prefer money, especially now that Maxi is in our squad.

But imo,the deal will not work in Deportivo's favour. Two similar style playmakers in one team aint gonna work sonny.Valeron and Riquelme's age differential is not that much either if im not mistaken.Plus,Luque has been their star player these past 2 years. So if the deal does work, offloading luque from depor will require barca spending money.ouch!

:) just my two cents.

I doubt Barcelona will get Saviola and Riquelme back. I read that they are doing everythign to sell them. I think that we should sell them for money as with that money get players we need and not Luque. We need a strong CB.
