How can I shoot harder? DO I kick harder or just relax? Help me please!

Everything about soccer is about being calm, so I would suggest being relaxed, approach from the side but don't lean to your left (if you're right footed) just kick it about in the middle of the ball. Everytime you kick the ball you kick it harder than the last.
But I'd lift weights with leg press's and things like that to get muscles in your leg.

Hmmmmm, try excercising your leg muscles. You should also stretch your legs so you wont pull a muscle, cause that hurts. And you might want to consider signing up for some sports or activities that requre alot of legwork; two that I myself participate in are Fencing( does wonders to foot cooardination and power) and dancing(?).

So Do I Relax Or Do I Ralax My Leg Whan I Kick The Ball As To Not Swing It Harder?
When I was taught at camp it basically just depends on where you connect with the ball and how you swing through. Obviously if you get the ball to knuckle,(no spin on the ball) it will travel a lot harder than if your were to have some spin on it. This takes awhile to master. Also, when you swing your leg through to kick it, don't try to actually swing your whole leg faster. Try to snap at your knee. So that the bottom of your leg is actually moving faster. Relax the upper part of your leg and just let it go through. If you snap at your knee and connect with the ball right in the middle, the ball will knuckle and travel with a lot of speed. Tell me if this works out for you...

Yea I can imagine it like a huge guy with huge legs, telling a little scrony dude that its timing.

what he told me... duno whether its true. he juz told me its bout timing... n i suppose its true.
so wat if you have fat ass legs like roberto carlos... doesnt mean you can kick a ball hard. if u ask body builders, they prob cant kick a football with loads of power. comes with technique n timing. timing when to withdraw your leg. cant say wat i sed is wrong. if u dint have timing there wont be any technique in your shot. i hope u RaulMadrid can see wat im talkin bout, cos u seem to laugh so much sounds like your mouth has more skill than your football skill
btw he wasnt even built.. just average. so where u comin from
I agree with Rickster... it's definitaly about timing and technique. More technique though. Sure, some size helps... but i've seen small people with excellent technique smack the ball SO much harder than someone with big legs and not very much technique. I watch men and women play soccer and i've seen it in both cases.
However, I will say, if someone has timing, technique, and size... than yeah, they'll shoot harder than the small person with excellent technique. By how much? I don't know, but technique and timing means SO much when it comes to shooting.

Yep,I agree with you Rema and Rickster. Technique and timing means a lot. If you connect with the ball in the right place, like I said earlier in the forum, it will knuckle right into the upper 90.(with some good aim, of course) Just swing through the ball, and snap at the knee and you'll get it.

Yeah sure, no problem. All I do is take in the information from people who know what their talking about and then tell other's who are experiencing the same problems. I'm glad I helped you out.:)

really depends how ur gonna shoot, if u want to hit a shot outside the box or a freekick then i suggest u lean to the left. i wasnt that good at freekicks and long shots till i tried that and i really pinpoint shots now. i lean back right before i shoot a long distance shot and this gives it a lot more accuracy and power, plus u can direct ur shots. for short distance shots in the box, then accuracy is needed more then power but u still need a bit of power.
hope that helps

I wuz always told not to lean backwards or to the left

To the left I don't see much wrong with (unless it's a REALLY extreme lean, which I doubt). But I was also told not to lean backwards... I guess if it's a far out shot it'll help with some height, but you'd probably be sacrificing a bit of power.

wut i dont get is why sometimes ppl run in a straightline into the ball and then kick it, i know that it keeps the ball low, but wouldn't you lose power?
