Redondo on his way to Milan

Real Madrid midfielder Fernando Redondo is about to sign for AC Milan, Spanish state radio (RNE) reported on Thursday. The news comes just a day after Real Madrid technical director Jose Martinez Pirri and club coach Vicente Del Bosque had said the Argentine international was not for sale. RNE reported that the player's agent Ricardo Luri had travelled to the Real Madrid pre-season training camp in Switzerland to present an improved offer from the Italian club. Milan were reported to have had a previous bid for 2,800 million pesetas ($15.79 million) turned down by the European champions.
The radio station said that Redondo, 31, had agreed personal terms with Milan and would be paid 800 million pesetas ($4.51 million) a year, a salary which would make him one of the best-paid players in the world. The figure would equal the amount Real Madrid are believed to be paying Luis Figo, who became the world's most expensive player on Monday when Real Madrid paid Barcelona 10,000 million pesetas for him. No details of a transfer fee or length of contract were given. ($1=177.34 Peseta)

Ima jos jedna opcija: da bude posudjen jednu godinu Feneru nakon cega bi se ponovo vratio u Real. Ali izgleda da se situacija smirila i ako Redondo ode onda ima realne sanse da ostane (izdgleda da ce i Salgado da zaplati zbog duga Reala, i njega trazi Milan).

Redondo commits to AC Milan

Real Madrid Football Club wishes to announce that an agreement has been reached between Fernando Redondo and AC Milan, which means that the player will now be moving to the Italian club. Real Madrid will pick up around 3,000 million pesetas (£11.5m) for the transfer, which came as a result of the wishes of the player himself.

The player's express wish to move over to AC Milan and end his sporting career in Italy was such that Real Madrid decided not to oppose the move, especially considering Fernando Redondo's extraordinary professionalism at all times when wearing the white shirt of Madrid. The club accepts and respects the player's decision to move.
