you can do drills...to train do ball mastery where you do cuts with one foot, two steps, then cut with the other..do it for a minute then do the same but do outside, and then do roll overs then do all three in a row for about three minutes...just do this every day....and you could set up lawn chairs or cones and use a small ball or size 1 to 3 and also use a size 5 ball and dribble between the chairs/cones and the small will help with control and the big ball will help with power,..then you can get someone else to practice with or just set something up and do shoulder fakes where you cross over and lean one way with your shoulders in that direction then use the ouside and push int the other direction and get around, you should start the move about 5 feet in front of the player so you can have time to go the other way while running, and make sure not to make mistakes because defenders will contain(it's something good defenders do) where they wait for a mistake and stay in a position so you can't pass them or nutmeg them because once you make a mistake they try to get the ball, you can also juggle to get more control and shoot the ball to practice accuracy and strength and to shoot better you've gotta use your laces and you don't have to whack like that one other guy said there's control in it there just lean foward and plant your other foot in the direction where you want to shoot and line your shoulders up too eventually or belly button pointing in the same direction lol then keep your eye on the ball once your lined up and just look at it while striking through(like golf) and to get even more power you could kick while in the air by lifting your planting foot after kicking the ball as in following through to get more power and you need to run to get more endurance and practice traps to get the ball when it's passed up to you in the air by throwing it up in the air or kicking it and trying to trap it, you also need to strengthen your less dominant foot too so you can use it to fake or sometimes when you have to pass or shoot in a sticky situation, if you don't know good moves there are some that i'll tell you there's a 360 where you roll over the ball with one foot then the other to get past some one..it works best when you have two guys on you so they can't steal it and there's a french move where you pull it behind your other leg and then turn and take off with it if you need to learn other ones go to www.expertfootball.com and go to the training section i hope i helped, just ask me any questions too

ok i play striker for a club team.......my voach tells me the skills a striker needs are the ability to make runs........footwork....shooting strenth and accuracy...and most of all the hunger for the goal.......as far as conditioning wise you gotta have speed and be able to pace ur self coz its a lot of running and dont get tired.........hope i helped........good luck wit the tryout maybe my team would get the chance to kick ur teams ass one day(lol...j/

Don't be afraid to go 1v1 with someone. Build up confidence by practicing with people and moves will, literally, just come outta ya without hardly thinking about it.

i tink the most important hting about being a striker is hunger for the goal, then first touch then runs, then finishing.
footwork and speed can be included but the ones i listed are far more important than these. and it goes in order of importance

Aha that was my position, you need good dribbling skills and a good cross.

just today i scored, a rebond ronnie. boosted my confidence. after that i was doing stepovers and some dribbling, and i was very pleased with my playing. i suppose its just about confidence, and dont hesistate. its better to do your initial thought than hesistate and find a better solution and then make your move. for some reason it doesnt work.
