How can I get fast feet?

Hollister_13

I'm 12 and I can run the mile in under 7 minutes. (I know it's not that fast but I'm the fastest in our school) I don't work out to run fast, (I already have big enough calves) I just run as fast as I can and try to run like at your top speed and don't slow down. I bet *Saberwolf will say something like," If you ran as fast as you can, you might throw-up." But it does work for me. Others might say some ways to work-out but I think that if you try as HARD as you can, (seriously, DO NOT SLOW DOWN BECAUSE YOU ARE TIRED) **you can run as fast as you want.

*Saberwolf, I'm not trying to insult you, but you usually do say something like that. And if you jog or run daily, your chances of throwning-up are gonna be slim.

**I'm not saying you are gonna run faster than a cheetah, but you will be able to run to your limits.

"Feets, don't fail me now"

Seriously though, what are you looking for?
Sprint, endurance, dribbling . . . what?

theres an extent for each player. normally a african ethic player can run faster, therefore in football terms sprints n dribble faster. tats y u notice many african ethnic players are the fastest in the game, ronaldo, henry, eto, martins drogba(is he?).

the reason is because they have stronger and more flexible tissues. im not quite sure if its tissues but they do have tis ting which is stronger. i read it somewhere.

every player can reach a certain extent even no matter how much you workout n train. every1 has a certain amount of strong tissues, n ppl can workout n train those tissues that are not tat strong, but u cant train all of it. eg u have 100 tisues n currently you have 50 tissues strong but u can train until an extent of 80. weird example but it helps clear tings

I remember I read somewhere that your running potential is pretty much determined between the ages of 12-14, so if you're not fast at that age, it's unlikely that you're gonna be fast later on in your life, therefore that span is very important for tissue development

Practice Practice Practice!

It's all about getting the muscles to "learn" how to do something, and then it gets easier.

Step number one to get "fast feet":

Get off you fata$$ and go outside.

Well to make it mroe clearer to you... you must excescise alot to make sure your body weight does not get in the way of your lifting the foot and body... just go outside reglarly ahev have fun...

The reason why we eat fats, carbs, calories...(food) is to get energy and go and use it NOT sitting on the computer the whole day debating about how to get fast feet.

lol.

ok here are some basic drills: Pound your feet into to the ground for 10 seconds just like your high kneeing in place then sprint 50 meters stop. ok 2nd drill run to a cone then run backwards then setup a second cone run there run back then 3rd cone run there and run backwards. ok now do the same thing cept do step overs and swith feet when you do it! Oh ya twist your hips. Then for a warm down 3 laps around the soccer field.

Yeah, just make sure you use them properly otherwise it can result in serious injuries.

pracitce a lot and if it helps for you to get your feet to move faster do cross country and track to condition like i do and you can't be a fatass, you've gotta be somewhat average sized and if you aren't the workout and lose weight... if you look at freestyle videos of people doing the ATW you'll see that most of them are really skinny...it's actually kind of scary, but you have to practice all the time and stay loose, our P.E. teacher says if you don't do a skill you've learned for a period of time then your mind and muscles still remember it and you might be able to do it better afterwards( she was talking about juggling with three balls in your hands not with soccer when she said this, she also said it makes you use both hands at the same time while trying to think watching the three balls which makes both hemispheres of your brain work together which gives you the potenial to become more intelligent0

at 16 if your just running a mile by itself you should do it in 5 mins to be honest maybe a little less maybe a little more.

i'm 13.. i can run a mile easily in a little less than 7 minutes and my best time for 3 km is 14:31 minutes.. i also run track and can sprint the 100 meter dash in about 15 seconds(these are my current stats, they may be better now if i tested)

o yea, i use to be the slowest on my soccer team, then i did track and cross country, which gave me more endurance from cross country and a little speed, and the track made me a lot faster in short distances, now i'm one of the best sprinter in my school

try skipping rope

michael8131991

we have to skip rope for our P.E. class most of the times to warmup, the Asians are the best in my class lol.(i'm asian, which means i'm the best, with a few other people that are AZN too) we can jump faster than you could count it, and you can't even see our feet move when we jump and you can only hear the rope. lol i don't know why i said this, but it takes up space :)

no that may be important, but at whatever age it's just work. i hurt my back and coming back into soccer took a good 2 months and i decided i'd get faster. so just do shuttle runs but more for speed than endurance. everytime you turn to go the other way just explode put everything you got into it and then sart doing the same thing but longer, just as hard as u can, so you build endurance too.

it isn't about long distance running at all. it's about flat out speed trust me all this stuff worked for me: do sprints where you go 10 yards and see how fast you can get going. shuttle runs like 5 yards,10,15, and 20. whatever is ok though. focus on putting everything you got into speeding up as fast as you can. and do a couple 40 yarders. just start standing or 3 point stance and explode as fast as u can and keep your legs going faster and faster until you are through the 40 yard mard. for quickness get a foot ladder off soccer.com for like 30 bucks. get some excercises of the internet and it will get you quicker. hopes this helps, because it all worked like magic for me

The best way to get fast feet is skipping. Also try stepups on on a soccer ball as fast as u can 4 five minutes.

I can run a mile 4:57. C'mon! But I hav no short distance speed. I canprobably only do 100m in 14 seconds.

No offence take Hollister, honestly, I wouldn't have said not to run as fast as you can. I love pushing my limits, but the trick is to acually know your limits. If you over-exert yourself (especially if you aren't use to cardiovascular activities) you can EASILY cause kill yourself. Sad story happened to a kid last year.

But anyways I don't think he was talking about running as in legs, but more of just his feet, as in tricks, mobility, agility, and just being quick in motions.

Quick Feet
-Jump Rope (I know it was said before, but this is a really good suggestion, it gets you really good timing and teaches you to keep on your toes)
-Learn Form (A good form includes leaning forward, waist low to the ground, feet shoulder-length apart, and staying on your toes, don't curl your hands into a fist or ball, but rather more or a flat board)

What I like to do is stand square (square being at good ready position form ^^^ said up there) and jump to your left, land then jump to your right, and keep zig-zagging as you're slowly moving foward. If it helps put a straight line of cones infront of you and jump over them.

arm movement too is important
