Honestly, I don't think the name change was necessary.

ANAHEIM -- Angels Baseball Monday announced the team has changed its official name to the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. This change is effective January 3, 2005.

Why change the name again? its so much easier in japan, where it the sponsor name, then the team name (ex yomiuri giants - Yomiuri newspaper group, tokyo giants) that way no matter where they go, they dont hav rto change there names...so i guess angels woyuld be the...DISNEY ANGELS!!! HAHAHA
